Behind the scenes in the workshop.

Each sauna is entirely handcrafted by our experienced team of skilled carpenters, with careful consideration taken over every detail at all stages of the build.

In order of appearance:

1 - Anth using the planer thicknesser
2 - Joe precision-cutting coping for a bench front on the mitre saw
3 - Carwyn and Robin fitting a fascia
4 - Alex clamping together a door frame
5 - Frew applying the final touches in our staining process

A look at our Signature Collection.

We specialise in building saunas that are designed and handcrafted in Mid-Wales, by our in-house architect, Arta, and our small team of expert carpenters. Our Signature Collection of saunas are built using the highest quality, entirely natural, and local materials, including British timber sourced within a 150-mile radius of our workshop.

The range starts at £45,000 (inc VAT), and prices vary subject to model, specification and customisation.

An Arden Sauna arrived at its new home last week - marking the start of an exciting partnership coming soon!

Our team oversaw the installation and will now complete an on-site build, to add an outdoor shower and bespoke decking. Designed to seamlessly blend the sauna into its new surroundings, the decking shape will be built to follow the natural gradient of the land.

Recently the Heartwood Saunas team came together to look ahead to an exciting season of new projects and plans — and to celebrate the close-knit, exceptional group of people behind every sauna.

We were hosted by Original Hideaways, whose beautiful retreat was the perfect setting to bring everyone together. It was also special to spend time in the Aire sauna we crafted for them last summer, enjoying a moment of calm beside their peaceful riverside spot.

The Ora. Your favourite compact sauna is back!

Following demand for our original Ora design, we have reintroduced the sauna into our Signature Collection.

The Ora is a compact design created to fit beautifully into spaces where other saunas can’t - all without sacrificing the view.

While thoughtfully sized, the Ora opens up to a surprisingly spacious interior for four people. A striking glass facade invites the outdoors in, while the elegant wall-mounted electric stove and two-tier floating benches create a minimalist modern layout that enhances the sense of openness.

With both our signature collection, and bespoke design service, we can create a sauna that brings your vision to life. Our bespoke offer allows you to collaborate closely with our team to create a sauna tailored entirely to your individual requirements.

We are experienced in working alongside garden and landscape designers to ensure each sauna integrates seamlessly into its setting. Placement is key, enhancing both the sauna experience and it’s surroundings, to create a considered and unique space.

In this example we worked directly with Luke Coleman to design a bespoke sauna thoughtfully incorporated into his garden, which was inspired by the Isle of Staffa and Nordic wellness traditions. The garden went on to win Luke gold in three categories at the RHS Wentworth Woodhouse Flower show, including the RHY Young Designer of the Year.
