๐ข Important Update for Our Patients โ Repeat Prescriptions ๐ข
Weโre very disappointed to share that the Bridgend Repeat Prescription Hub will close on 30th April 2026 following a review by the Local Health Board.
Unfortunately, there was no prior notice or consultation with the local pharmacies about this decision.
โ๏ธ What does this mean for patients? โ๏ธ
If you currently use the Hub, you will need to order your repeat prescriptions using alternative methods agreed by your GP surgery. Below is a summary of the options available for patients registered at local surgeries:

You can order your repeat prescription by:

๐ฎ Dropping a repeat slip into the prescription box at the practice
โ๏ธ Handwritten requests are accepted (must include name, date of birth, address, and medication required)
๐ If these options arenโt suitable, please contact the surgery on their usual phone number when your prescription is due to discuss alternatives.

You can order your repeat prescription by:

๐ฎ Dropping a repeat slip into the letter box at the practice (slips available at the practice or existing repeat slips accepted)
๐ If these options arenโt suitable, please call 01656 739023 after 2pm when your prescription is due to discuss ongoing options.

๐๐ป Extra support is available to help you sign up, with drop-in sessions during normal working hours

The NHS app is the recommended option - for those who are able to use it - as once it is set up, it's quick and easy to use, with no waiting in phone queues or travelling to drop repeat slips in. With our new computer system focusing on "paperless prescriptions where possible", in an effort to become more eco-friendly ๐ฟ, we would encourage using the NHS app as the way forward. ๐
However, we do understand that there may be patients who will struggle to use the NHS app, and are conscious that they can't be left behind in this shift towards electronic ordering and dispensing ๐
Therefore, as we strive to become less wasteful in community pharmacy, we will only print repeat prescriptions if you need them - but if you would like to continue having a printout of your repeat with your prescription, please let us know either by popping in, or calling or sending a WhatsApp to 01656732277.
Don't panic! If the repeat slip hasn't been issued for some reason, we can print it for you at any time. ๐
