Appreciation post for the gentleman that is John, who has been hard at work restoring beauty to the greenery down the path behind the pharmacy completely off his own back - what an incredible difference he's made!
This patch of land has been overgrown and strewn with litter, rubbish and detritus for years. It's been an eyesore, a hazard and an invitation for rats to thrive - but John's hard work has turned it into a celebration of the beauty of nature. It's so lovely to see the bridge and stream from the upstairs consultation room too!
A heartfelt thank you to John, who has done an incredible job transforming this little walkway into something beautiful

If you are aged 18 or over and are taking at least four repeat medications, we'd be so grateful if you'd consider helping us to find better ways to help our patients, by completing a secure questionnaire about medicines usage - we've had no takers so far and are looking for at least TEN patients who do not use "medicines compliance aids" and TEN who do. 🚨 ALERT FOR PATIENTS TAKING RAMIPRIL 5MG CAPSULES 🚨

If you take Ramipril 5mg capsules, please check the batch number. If you have the affected batch - GR164099 - please return the affected packs to your local pharmacy as soon as possible.

This is due to a nationwide alert from manufacturer Crescent Pharma, detailed below:

"Crescent Pharma Limited is recalling one batch of Ramipril 5 mg Capsules as a precautionary measure because a potential manufacturing error may have led to two blood pressure medicines being packaged incorrectly.

This follows a complaint from a pharmacy after a patient reported that a pack labelled Ramipril 5 mg Capsules (Batch Number GR164099) contained blister strips of Amlodipine 5mg Tablets inside the sealed carton"

This is a NATIONWIDE alert - NOT specific to one pharmacy - so regardless of where you are in the UK, please check your medication.

Rest assured, the risk to patients of the accidental substitution of one widely used blood pressure medication for another is low. The most likely side effect would be dizziness related to low blood pressure. However if you have been issued the affected batch, please return it to your dispensing pharmacy.

The MHRA has advised pharmacy and healthcare professionals to return all remaining stock to their suppliers

How much do we love our handmade fruit basket from Mary?! 🧺

I think this is our favourite so far - what a beautiful and thoughtful gift from an extremely talented individual.

Let me tell you, the admiration went up a notch when we realised the fruits were removable 🤣🤩

This week has been an extremely busy one and the staff are worn out 😴 but things like this keep a smile on our faces and brighten up our days ☀️

I've said it before and I'll say it again - what a pleasure it is to be part of this community ❤️❤️❤️

Something Claire said about the visits to Nanty Pharmacy and Morriston Hospital, which strikes a chord with us, is: "days like this remind me just how much expertise, passion and commitment to patient care there is across our profession".

📣 TEXT ALERTS UPDATE 📣

It has come to our attention that in the process of moving from our old computer system to our new (and improved!) one, some patients have not been receiving their text messages to let them know their prescription is ready.

We are sorry about this, and are re-adding the text alert function to patients who have signed up for it going forward 🗨️

If you have ordered your prescription but have not received a text from us to tell you to collect it, but think it should be ready, either pop in, or WhatsApp or call 01656732277 so we can check if it's done.
