Wow!
We've been overwhelmed with the response to our Patient Experience Survey for the Premises Improvement part-funded by Welsh Government last year.
Thank you so much for the 55 of you who have contributed - not only will it help us showcase how beneficial investing in community pharmacy can be to Welsh Government, but it also gives us valuable feedback on what you love (and don't love) about our pharmacy and quality of service provision 💚
We will continue to do our best to provide a wide range of high quality services, safely and effectively, with the resources we have - and petition for support to deliver them 🥰🙌🏻

As part of the Welsh Government Grant part-funding the property improvements we had done last year, we are required to gather some patient feedback on how the improvements to the pharmacy premises have impacted access to NHS services in the community ☺️

We know how much harder everything feels when you're unwell. 🤒 That's why we always do our best to get you sorted quickly - but in healthcare, the days can be unpredictable, and sometimes, things can take a little longer than expected. ⌛
We're incredibly lucky to be part of a fantastic community, and we really appreciate your patience when our pharmacists are busy.

❄️ Weather Update – Deliveries ❄️
There is a yellow weather warning for potential snow in Maesteg over the coming days. Whilst it is currently forecast as wind, sleet and rain, we want to plan ahead just in case conditions change.
🚘 Patients who normally receive their prescription delivery on a Friday will instead receive it tomorrow, Thursday 8th January.
💊 If you have had a text to let you know your prescription is ready to collect, and you need it for the weekend, we would encourage you to collect it tomorrow just in case the weather is too bad on Friday to venture out.
This is to help ensure everyone receives their medication safely and on time, should the weather worsen.
We've been keeping an eye on the weather forecast and are hopeful that snow doesn't materialise, but we know what the weather can be like in Wales (unpredictable!) so who knows! Better to be safe than sorry 🥶

To help you stay stocked up and stress-free over Christmas and New Year, please check our festive opening hours and order your repeat prescriptions early.

❌ CLOSED on:
• Thursday 25th December (Christmas Day)
• Friday 26th December (Boxing Day)
• Thursday 1st January (New Year’s Day)

✅ OPEN AS NORMAL (9:00am – 5:30pm) on all other days, including:
• Wednesday 24th December (Christmas Eve)
• Wednesday 31st December (New Year’s Eve)

💊 Please order in advance:
If you’re due medication around the festive period, request your prescriptions as soon as possible to allow time for your GP to process it and for us to prepare it.

🥂 Team Nanty ✨
After a challenging week, we donned our posh outfits to celebrate the Jingle & Jackpot Christmas Party Night at Bryngarw House 🎲
The run up to Christmas is notoriously the busiest time in Community Pharmacy, and the team have been working hard to keep on top of prescriptions as well as delivering much needed care to the community.
With the considerably high amount of circulating viruses such as flu, covid, and tonsillitis, as well as quite a few secondary bacterial infections, we have delivered almost 200 consultations this month already 🦠🤧
So here's to a very tired, but dedicated team 🥂
It's down to their hard work in keeping the dispensary running, and getting prescriptions out, that Anna and Callum have been able to provide these services. We do our very best to help everyone who comes through our door, and even if we can't see you immediately, if it's something we can help with, we will do what we can to see you as soon as possible 💚
We will continue to do everything we can to help you during the winter months - and we hope you're managing to enjoy some festive cheer despite so much lurgy!

We are incredibly lucky to have The Social Counselling Collective in Nantyffyllon 💚
These qualified counsellors are offering their time FREE OF CHARGE, on New Year's Eve, to help those in need. Their compassion is astounding and we commend their selflessness in putting others first over the festive period, in recognition of the fact that this can be a very difficult time for many.

Please, if you are struggling, make use of this resource - we accept how hard it can be to reach out, and with mental health resources so stretched, with long waiting lists or expensive private options, something like this is a rare gem 💎
