As London gets ready for marathon weekend, communities will be coming together to run, spectate, or volunteer.
Large events like this already have medical support in place, but when the wider community and event goers are also ready to step up in an emergency, it adds an extra layer of safety.
That was the case for Will, whose Saturday morning Parkrun unexpectedly became a moment of life or death when he went into cardiac arrest. Thanks to the quick, confident actions of those around him, he survived.
