⚡️ What if I told you that attending aquanatal classes during your pregnancy comes with a shed load of benefits?! ⚡️
As beautiful as it is, pregnancy can physically take it’s toll on your body. I remember really struggling just doing the school run because of my pelvic girdle pain and backache. But being supported in the water, being able to stretch and move freely really eased my symptoms.
Are you suffering from any physical ailments? Message me to find out how classes can help you!

It goes without saying that I am happiest when I’m in the water but when I was pregnant with my second born, I mentally and physically needed it more than ever.
So here are 5 reasons (amongst many more!) why I loved aquanatal during my pregnancy!

👂 Ears in the water 💦
The first time I relaxed in the water with my ears submerged was mind blowing in the best possible way! It’s dreamlike!
Whilst it’s never compulsory to get your hair wet with Lotus Aqua, it’s true that the more you put into classes, the more you get out of them.
So here is why relaxing with your ears in the water during class feels so good!
🪷Instant calm - The water muffles noise, wrapping you in peaceful quiet.
🪷No strain - Float with as many buoyancy aids as you need (or none at all) to feel comfortable and to take away strain and pressure from your neck and shoulders.
🪷Warm and soothing - The warm water eases tension and pregnancy aches.
🪷Womb-like connection - You feel what your baby feels: warmth, gentle swaying, soft sounds.
🪷Mind switch-off - The rhythm of the water helps you drift into total relaxation.
Trust me- it’s like a mini spa and a baby-bonding moment rolled into one!

A huge thank you to Forrester Park Pool for accommodating my lovely ladies over the summer.
Tonight we enjoyed beautiful butterfly poses whilst supported in the water, practises to increase lung capacity and also to encourage baby to move into a good position for birth.
By the looks of it, my ladies thoroughly enjoyed their relaxation at the end, whilst the daylight faded ❤️

🧘♀️ Why you should join classes with Lotus Aqua for your mental health 🧘♀️
Pregnancy is a time of huge physical and emotional change. While your body adapts to support new life, your mind is just as busy navigating uncertainty, shifting hormones, and a wide range of feelings. That’s why my aquanatal classes are designed not only to support your body but to care for your mental wellbeing too.
Here’s how my classes help nurture your mental health during pregnancy:
🌿 1. Reduce Stress and Anxiety
Through gentle movement in warm water and mindful breathing techniques, my classes help calm your nervous system and bring you back into a place of peace. Many women report feeling less anxious and more emotionally balanced after just one session.
🌿 2. Improve Sleep and Deep Relaxation
Physical tension and an overactive mind can make sleep difficult during pregnancy. Lesson plans are built around deep relaxation and releasing tension, helping you rest more easily and feel more refreshed.
🌿 3. Boost Mood and Build Confidence
Being in the water feels freeing and empowering. Movement becomes lighter, more comfortable, and more enjoyable. This helps lift your mood and builds confidence in your changing body, which is essential for emotional wellbeing during pregnancy.
🌿 4. Feel Less Alone and Connect With Others
Pregnancy can sometimes feel isolating, but you don’t have to go through it alone. My classes offer a safe and friendly space to meet other mums-to-be, share experiences, and feel understood and supported.
🌿 5. Strengthen Your Mind-Body-Baby Connection
My classes bring you into the present moment and encourage awareness of your body and your baby. This mindfulness helps you feel more connected, calm, and emotionally prepared for birth and motherhood.
🧠 Your mental health matters.
Lotus Aqua classes are more than just exercise..they’re a space to feel supported, empowered, and truly cared for.
Float, breathe, and feel better - for you and your baby.
Have any questions or would like to book on? Feel free to pop me a message to chat!

This one got me a bit 🥲 😭 Thank you for the wonderful review ❤️
Google Review in full:
“No.1 EXPECTANT MAMA ACTIVITY!
I cannot recommend Hayley @ Lotus Aqua enough! I have been going for the best part of 6 months.
Due to personal reasons I struggled with the bonding part of baby and mum since finding out I was expecting, I can safely and happily say that every Wednesday coming to class helped with that bonding time and I felt nothing but hope and escapism for those moments in the water.
It’s helped me bond, meet other expecting mums and really prepare for a water birth which is my desire but ultimately it helped me really live in the moment and appreciate what my body is doing.
Hayley is knowledgeable and welcoming, I feel almost as upset not seeing her weekly now baby is due but I can’t wait till baby is here and I can continue mum and baby classes.
I can’t thank you enough, more mamas need to be informed that joining is so beneficial on a fitness basis, relaxation basis and if you have any pain/discomfort these classes help and Hayley caters to anyone suffering e.g. PGP and will make sure you are covered and only going to the level your body will take you.
Thank you Hayley! 💙🦋”

Hi, my name is Hayley and I am the owner of Lotus Aqua.
Following over 13 years within the insurance industry, I was given the opportunity to revisit my dream of teaching swimming. Upon completing my STA Level 1 Swimming Teacher qualification, I was blessed with the news that I was expecting my son. This quickly gave me the drive to complete my STA Parent & Baby Swimming Teacher qualification, before my son arrived.
After the birth of my son, I was unfortunately made redundant whilst enjoying my maternity leave and found myself at a cross road in my life. I had to think hard about what career path I wanted to take, which also allowed me to enjoy watching my son grow up. I absolutely loved being pregnant and something in my head kept nagging me that this was the direction I needed to go, but I also LOVED teaching swimming. So, in 2018 whilst my son was 1 year old, I studied hard and completed my full STA Level 2 Swimming Teacher qualification and my Water Fitness Ante & Postnatal Exercise Qualification.
In November 2018 I launched my very first aquanatal class in Marks Tey and since then have expanded to 5 classes a week in Marks Tey, Maldon and Chelmsford, delivering classes to over 50 mums-to-be a week! It's been challenging but highly rewarding and I have met some lovely ladies along the way.
