Like flowers that need the rain, we can grow through life’s harder moments too 🌧️🌸 Even when things feel heavy or overwhelming, there is still space for healing, reflection and gentle change.

Difficult seasons don’t mean something is wrong…they are often part of how we grow and find our way forward.

You don’t have to navigate those seasons alone 🤍 Support can help you make sense of what you’re feeling, find steadier ground and move at a pace that feels right for you.

Growth isn’t a race; it’s a direction. 🌱✨

We often wait for the “big leap” to feel like we’re moving forward. But healing happens in the quiet, tiny sprouts between the steps. Be patient with your pace.

Your mind is a garden, not a storage unit. 🌿✨

In a world that demands you carry everything, choosing to let go is the bravest thing you can do. Healing isn’t about becoming “whole” again…it’s about realizing you were never broken to begin with.

The festive season isn’t joyful for everyone. For many, Christmas can highlight grief, loneliness, family difficulties, financial stress, or feelings of anxiety and low mood.

If this time of year feels heavy, please know that your experience is valid. You don’t have to force happiness, and you don’t have to cope alone.

💬 Counselling can offer a safe, supportive space to talk through what Christmas brings up for you — at your own pace and without judgement.

📞 UK Support Helplines (available over Christmas):
• Samaritans – Call or text 116 123 (24/7)
• NHS 111 – for urgent mental health support
• Shout – Text 85258 for free, confidential support (24/7)
• 999 – in an emergency

Please reach out if you’re struggling — support is there, even during the holidays.

🤍 Be gentle with yourself this Christmas.

This wall speaks I love you in hundreds of languages.
But sometimes, the hardest dialect to master is the one we whisper to ourselves…the language of self-kindness 💚

As a counsellor, I often chat with people about what helps them stay grounded when life feels a bit uncertain. âš“

For me, being by the sea is that reminder… that calm isn’t about everything being still, it’s about finding a sense of steadiness even when things are moving around you.

Anchors don’t stop the waves; they just help us stay steady beneath them.

In the same way, our own anchors, things like mindfulness, connection, or quiet moments of reflection, can help us find balance when life feels a little unpredictable.

⚓️ What helps you feel anchored when things start to shift?

🌿 Doing what you love is never a waste of time.

I often remind clients (and myself) of this truth. We can so easily slip into feeling guilty for slowing down or doing something simply because it brings us joy. Yet those moments are essential; they help us reconnect with who we are beneath the noise and demands of daily life. đź’š

When we give ourselves permission to engage in what we love whether it’s painting, walking in nature, tending to a garden, or quietly enjoying a cup of tea, we nurture our sense of balance and wellbeing. These are not indulgences; they are acts of care that remind us we are worthy of gentleness and rest. 🌸

What is one thing that you love to do for you?

🌿 Finding the right therapist can take time and that’s completely okay.

When people reach out to me, one of the first things I remind them is that therapy should feel right for you. You deserve to feel safe, understood, and supported from the very beginning. đź’š

Here are a few things to keep in mind as you explore your options:
✨ Think about the kind of approach that feels right for you
✨ Ask questions — it’s perfectly okay to be curious
✨ Notice whether you feel safe and truly listened to
✨ Trust your feelings after that first meeting

The connection you have with your therapist is so important. Take your time… you’ll know when it feels like a good fit. 🌸

🌱 Building a healthy sense of self-worth isn’t something that happens overnight — it’s a journey. Like any strong structure, it starts with a solid foundation: self-awareness.

When you understand yourself — your feelings, your needs, your values — you lay the groundwork for self-acceptance, where you can embrace who you are without judgment. From there, you can grow into self-love — the ability to truly care for yourself, set boundaries, and believe in your own worth.

💬 In counselling, I help clients work through each of these layers at their own pace, creating a supportive environment where you can strengthen your foundation and nurture your growth. If you’ve been feeling disconnected from yourself, or unsure of your value, you’re not broken — you might just need space and guidance to rebuild.

Your worth has always been there. Let’s uncover it together. 💚

⏰ Today’s reminder: It’s okay not to be okay.

We live in a world that often tells us to “stay positive” or “just keep going” — but sometimes, the bravest thing you can do is to pause and acknowledge that you’re struggling. You don’t have to have it all figured out, and you certainly don’t have to carry it alone.

🌿 At Rebecca Alvey Counselling, I offer a safe, non-judgmental space where every part of your emotional experience is valid — even the messy, complicated parts. Whether you’re feeling anxious, overwhelmed, or just a little lost, we can explore what’s going on together and find a way forward that feels right for you.

Remember: you’re not failing if you’re finding things hard. You’re human. 💚

🌿 Your mindset is powerful. Sometimes, the biggest shift in life begins with the smallest change in how we speak to ourselves. Instead of letting “I can’t” or “I’m not enough” take root, we can reframe those thoughts into something hopeful, compassionate, and growth-focused.

💬 As a counsellor, I work with clients to help them notice the language they use internally, because that voice shapes how we see ourselves and how we move forward. If you’ve been feeling stuck in self-doubt or fear of failure, remember — you have the power to hit the “reset” button on your thoughts.

🌱 You don’t need to go through it alone. Together, we can turn those limiting beliefs into empowering ones that help you grow, heal, and thrive.
