Don't forget to sign up for our Newborn Tricks and Tips Class!
May 2nd at 1pm ET

You'll learn:

+ Why your baby is pulling off of the ni**le for no good reason.

+ Is "ni**le confusion" real, and should you worry about it?

+ What is that weird sound your baby is making?

+ How to be assertive with well-meaning yet intrustive people.

+ (Speaking of, why is everyone judging you for everything?!)

+ How to deal with Parent Guilt.

+ What does it mean for parents who give birth at a "Baby-Friendly" hospital?

+ How to work effectively with your partner as a supportive team.

+ How much poo is normal, and why there are so many kinds.

+ Is your 2 week old about to roll over?!

+ The fussiness hierarchy.

+ "If it ain't broke, don't fix it" and other effective ways to soothe your baby

+ And much more- with LOTS of stuff about sleep (why won't they sleep, what is active sleep, how to get them to sleep, how to transfer them to a crib, why their sleep changes, what to do about it, and when YOU will sleep)

After the course, Mel will open it up to a Q&A. Feel free to ask anything, and she'll be happy to answer! If something falls outside of her purview, she'll follow up with you after class to ensure that you feel confident going forward.

You've learned the basics of how to take care of your newborn- bathing, feeding, burping, etc. But what about the things that no one tells you about? The things that take you to Reddit in the middle of the night trying to find answers from other exhausted and anxious parents? This class will cover t...

Anyone who has ever listened to me talk knows that I value an evidence-based approach to my practice as a nanny, NCS, and in the classes I teach.

There is NO robust, scientific evidence that Tylenol causes autism. This is blatantly incorrect, and what's worse is that we DO know that having a fever during pregnancy, particularly the first trimester, can lead to complications for the fetus.

Also, for the millionth time- VACCINES ARE NOT THE CAUSE OF AUTISM. They never have been. This is also incorrect and incredibly dangerous.

For the president of the United States to be peddling pseudoscience, putting children at risk, is beyond maddening.

I am so worried for our kids.

President Donald Trump is using the platform of the presidency to promote unproven ties between Tylenol, vaccines and autism.

From the moment you welcome your baby, it's often communicated to you that your needs no longer matter:

• Disregarded wishes during labor.

• Lack of access to rest after giving birth.

• Unnecessary pressure to feed your baby a certain way despite pain, inability, or a simple decision not to breastfeed.

• Lack of education and resources about PPD, and stigma for having it.

• Inadequate maternity/parent leave.

• Pressure from parenting methods to sacrifice your wellbeing for their idea of what's best for your baby.

• Judgment from friends, parents, family, professionals, the internet - everywhere- about every decision you make.

We need to start caring for and protecting parents and their mental health/wellbeing. Not only is it the ethical choice, but it ALSO protects and cares for our children.

You have to put the oxygen mask on yourself, before you can put it on your child.

*If any of you are suffering, please feel free to reach out, and we'll do our best to find resources in your area.

When I became a nanny, I didn't realize the weight of the responsibility that I was taking on. Yes, it's (obviously) taking care of kids. And that means everything that comes along with it- joy, stress, exhaustion, crying, diapers, cuteness overload. But one of the most important jobs that a nanny h...

Worried about your child's social development during COVID? These toys and gadgets might help!

We've personally had great success with the Pop It sensory toys, which we've seen have a positive impact on a child who frequently became frustrated and angry.

Meditation toys to help kids manage their feelings. A Lego kit for coding, with a focus on problem-solving skills. And an Amazon video chat portal that uses holograms, games and puzzles to keep little ones engaged on calls.
