The texture of Tampico is perfect for altar brushes & small brooms.

I find that broomcorn is fit for fastening a proper broom or besom as it is sturdy and coarse, aiding in cleansing larger spaces more efficiently.

The Tampico is so delicate and soft, it handles smaller spaces, corners, nooks & crannies incredibly.

Broom/brush making is certainly a lost art, but as I learn I hope to connect with others so it can be accessible and appreciated by everyone.

What a lovely year.

As you may have noticed, I’ve decided to change the name of The Bumble & Bee Co to Four Humours.

Since the beginning of my journey in business (and in the UK) is still so fresh, I’ve had some growing to do that comes with progress.

One of those being the change in direction of where I originally wanted my style to be (English Countryside Vs folklore).

Others being the balance between learning, exploring, creating, selling, marketing, and designing everything on my own.

It was easy to feel overwhelmed at times, and notice my self hinderance at others.

In all this, I’ve learned so much. I’m excited to step further in, connect with you all more often, & finally get my website up 🙈

Thank you all for your love. Next year will be so lovely with all your support.

A lovely update & something I’m so exited to share with you all:

The Bumble & Bee Co. Is now stocked at , an absolutely stunning small business. Over the moon about this as I love their aesthetic and it fits so well with my products.

My website is currently under construction because I’ve yet to photograph all of my wares. My partner says I’m a perfectionist, but I tend to think I just like to get it right the first time.

So this post is part celebratory, part accountability to just get it done. Sometimes we need space for both.

As the week begins is descent into rest, I begin to see how much work has been done.

It’s strange running a small business as the majority of things needed to set up aren’t often talked about or immediately purchased to create your wares.

I’m grateful for those assisting along the way, becoming full aware it is a collective process to sell our crafts.

I’ve been so busy I’ve event forgotten to get a Halloween costume. Still wouldn’t trade it for the world.

Thank you to all that are here supporting me. I most certainly won’t forget that.

Grotesque features are all over the UK.

They protect homes and places of work, guarding the doors or watching overhead.

Lore is all around us, wanderer.

You just have to look for it.

Cleansing goes beyond the altar.

Soapmaking is something I felt called to before any other ware.

Most soaps I’ve used would be incredibly harsh on my skin, leaving me feeling dry & overly fragranced.

I chose to use essential oils in each soap to reduce contact with excess chemicals.

This allows for a thoughtfully fragranced soap balanced with the benefits of nature without overpowering the senses.

After extensive self-testing & sharing with others, my soap will be available soon.

“Why Use a Werewolf as a Symbol/Logo?”

This mythical creature is ruled by the moon, which is known for ruling over our emotions.

When a human transforms into a Werewolf, they completely lose themselves to emotion & instinct.

Outside of Christian retellings of such lore, it is much less about the fear and danger of such a transformation and more to do with reconnection to nature and inhabitants that aren’t human.

In my reconnection with the land, I went from knowing this to feeling this change and how profound growing with our surroundings can be.

I want to celebrate nature and lore in their original and intended contexts by offering wares dedicated to these stories.

Consider this an invocation to the supernatural.

One of my favourite ways to energise a space is to cleanse it with smell.

Candles will forever be my number one choice, but wax melts are unmatched in scent throw and create an affordable gateway into hundreds of scents.

These two are some of my favourites, Dearg Due & The Fetch.

Available through TikTok, soon on my website.

Brooms coming soon 🐺

I’ve been furthering my research into historical broom-making and have learned only through a limited, colonised perspective.

The way in which brooms became manufactured is due to Benjamin Franklin stealing broomcorn seeds during his ambassador’s trip to Egypt after seeing how effective it was for cleansing a space.

The growth of broom production boomed in the early and maturing years of colonial America, first through craftsfolk and then through machinery.

We now see brooms in supermarket aisles alongside chemicals, plastics, and disposable floor pads. A far stretch from their root.

I’ve never had someone show me how to craft an altar-brush or a broom. I’ve learned through educating myself and exhausting hours of foraging for the perfect downed branches.

So bringing this art form back to serve those who honour and practice with these tools is sacred to me, especially as I aim to serve my fellow earth-devoted kin. There is so much power in this alone.

Blessed be, wanderer. I cannot express the excitement I have to craft these for you all enough.

Nothing beats a brilliant candle 🕯

As I’ve connected more with the landscape, I’ve brought my favourite moments into ten different scents.

What it so fascinating about connecting to the space around is you begin to connect deeply with every change, every moment, every smell.

The stories told to us from pre-modern times are based on geo-spatial paganism and that is exactly what I desire to share with others.

Once you connect, you begin to understand the lore of the land 🐺

Website coming soon. Until then, find my shop on TikTok.

As connected as I feel to Autumn, I feel grief in not connecting with my space recently.

I’ve focused so heavily on preparing wares, school, & healing that I forgot to incorporate something that fills me with such joy.

As the leaves fall and berries ripen, I’m grateful for the first year of my life connecting with the flora and fauna in the country.

My grief comes from the joy it has brought me & the lessons that come with.

May your space reflect what you need & your skills enable it to flourish.
