UPDATE 3:

One lane reopened northbound, lanes 1,2, and 3 remaining closed as fire crews work to douse the fire.

Recovery and road repairs will be required thereafter.

We understand the driver is safe and well.

Southbound also now starting to move again, with all lanes open. Delays back to J21 north, and J19 south.

UPDATE 2 - remains CLOSED in both directions from J19 to J21, due to a serious lorry fire at J20 northbound.

The southbound carriageway has been closed for safety reasons.

Please remain within your vehicles if stuck in backlog.

DVSA have the power to stop vans, lorries, buses, and coaches. This allows us to carry out spot checks to ensure vehicles are safe and roadworthy.

We prosecuted a driver at Swansea Magistrates Court after he failed to stop when instructed to do so.

He pleaded guilty and was fined and required to pay costs 👩‍⚖️
