𧬠Genetic matching: much more than phenotypic compatibility
In assisted reproduction, choosing the right donor should not only be based on physical appearance or blood type.
π Our advanced genetic matching system goes one step further by preventing the transmission of recessive diseases to the future baby.
π¬ How does it work?
Both the donor and the genetically predisposed partner are analysed using a carrier panel to identify genetic mutations that, while not causing symptoms in the parents, could be transmitted if both partners are carriers of the same altered gene.
π§ͺ This avoids the combination of recessive mutations that can lead to hereditary diseases such as:
- Cystic fibrosis
- Spinal muscular atrophy
- Thalassaemia
- Among many others.
