It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dear Mavis Williamson, a remarkable woman who brought warmth, laughter, and colour into the lives of all who knew her.

Dukinfield Crematorium, Hall Green Road, Dukinfield, SK16 4EP.

Mavis had a special love for butterflies and leopard print — symbols of her free spirit and unique style. She is now reunited with her beloved Eric, and though our hearts are heavy, we take comfort in knowing they are together again.

She leaves behind a deeply heartbroken family who will forever cherish the memories, love, and joy she shared so generously.

This will be a celebration of life, not just a farewell — A time to remember the laughter, the stories, and the strength that defined Mavis.

We invite you to honour her memory with love, respect, and the vibrant spirit she embodied every day — A spirit that touched us all, inspired us to be bolder, kinder, and reminded us to embrace life fully, just as Mavis always did.

Yesterday, we gave John the kind of send-off only he could have pulled off.

He made his entrance into Hollinwood Chapel to We No Speak Americano 🎶, in an engraved coffin that was every bit as unique as he was. Carried proudly by his family and friends, the service was led by a celebrant who had us laughing, smiling, and sharing stories instead of tears.

Grief According to Doyle - A Little Bit of Light.

I didn’t hear you today.
Not even in my head.

I still sat by the door for a while. Still looked at your shoes. But I didn’t bring the toy with me this time. It stayed under the couch, quiet, where I left it two days ago. Maybe three.

I didn’t forget you. I could never.

But today, I sniffed a flower in the garden. Looked out of the window at the world, just going by like nothing has happened. Sat in the sun for longer than usual. Let a little human scratch my ears, even though they weren’t you. And for a second—just a second—it didn’t hurt.

It wasn’t joy. Not exactly. Just… not pain.

The house is still too quiet.
Your spot on the bed is still empty.
But the world didn’t end.

It’s still turning. The wind still moves the trees. Food still tastes good sometimes. And grief, well… it’s not as sharp today.

It’s still mine though. I still carry it.

But it walked a little behind me today.
And I didn’t look back.

Family have requested family flowers only, with donations if desired to Cancer Research.

All welcome, as we share beautiful memories of John, listen to some of his favourite music and celebrate his life.
