Live-in care can help your parent stay in the comfort of home, with support that fits their routine. Mornings might mean help washing, dressing and breakfast. Afternoons could be a walk, appointments or time with favourite hobbies. Evenings often focus on a calm meal, light tidying and a settled bedtime.

It’s person-led and flexible, so support can change day to day without lots of new faces.

💚 Today we launched our very first Falls Heroes session! 🦸✨

What a fantastic start to the programme.

Falls Heroes helps young people build awareness, confidence, and safe helping skills — all of which can make a real difference in keeping people safe from falls.

We were so impressed by the engagement, thoughtful discussions, and brilliant “Danger Detective” skills 👀🧹

A huge thank you to the amazing partners who helped bring this first session together:

💚 Chloe Day – Starting Point Community Learning Partnership
💚 Clare Taylor – Neighbourhood Co-ordinator (Werneth)

Collaboration like this is what makes meaningful community work possible 👏

And a big well done to our very first group of official Falls Heroes 🌟

Getting to know our clients well, we learn what their most cherished memories are. Weddings, births, sunny days outdoors… we understand their importance. Have you seen John in our new sponsorship idents for Love Your Weekend? He loves a trip down memory lane, and thanks to his Care Professional Ben, he gets to relive the moments that mean the most to him.

Happy Valentine’s Day to our lovely local community. 💕

Whether you are spending today with a partner, family, friends or quietly at home, we hope you feel included and cared about. A quick call, a card or a smile at the door can help someone feel remembered today.

Sending warm Valentine’s wishes from our team to you.

A companionship visit is simply time with someone who turns up, listens, and helps your loved one feel less alone.

It might be a chat over a cup of tea, a gentle walk, sharing a hobby, or a lift to a local group. If it helps, it can also include small practical things like making lunch or keeping routines steady.

If you’re supporting a parent from a distance, regular visits can bring peace of mind.

Save this for later.

Support at home is not always about big changes. Often, it is the small, steady help that makes the day feel manageable.

A Care Professional can support with morning or evening routines, meals, reminders, light housekeeping, and getting out safely for appointments or errands, helping life stay familiar while taking some pressure off family.

If you are not sure where to start, think about the time of day that feels hardest right now. Message us and tell us when that is.

A bit of planning can make appointments feel calmer for you and your parent.

Try this:

Jot down the reason for the visit and 2–3 questions.

Pack the essentials the night before (letters, meds list, hearing aids, water).

Build in extra time for toilets, parking, and slower walking.

If things feel overwhelming, agree a gentle phrase like: “Let’s take a minute.”

You’re doing your best. Save this for next time.

When appetite is low, aim for “good enough”, not perfect.

Try smaller portions and familiar favourites, with drinks within easy reach. If chewing is tiring, softer choices can help without making meals feel “special”. Sitting together, even for 10 minutes, can make eating feel easier.

If meals are often skipped, jot down what’s best tolerated and when, it can really help families and clinicians.

Save for later.
