Deep tissue massage with dry myofascial cupping 🤲🏼🍵

Working on knots & adhesions, bringing blood flow to the surface & to the muscles. This is my favourite technique to use as i definitely believe in the benefit of blood flow and tissues being rejuvenated. We also worked on the QL muscle and the erector spinae.
Last pic is a few days after treating, the bruising starting to show and heal the areas surrounding.

TRICEP TENDONITIS 🤕🤳🏼

My client Sid struggles with lateral epicondylitis (tennis elbow) and reoccurring tricep tendinitis. This is an inflammation of the tendon, causing pain, sometimes swelling and redness, stiffness and weakness causing instability.

He trains a lot at the gym, and noticed that he had a dull aching pain down his elbow and through up towards his tricep tendon. So by doing a few special tests, we noticed that this time it wasn’t tennis elbow, it was more of the triceps tendinitis that was bothering him.

During the appointment we did active release, deep tissue massage, muscle energy technique, trigger pointing & cupping. He had LOTS of knots all along his lateral head of the triceps, so we focused on this area.

Sid is a perfect client in my eyes, puts in the work to recover & he understands the pain you have to go through in order to recover properly. He’s booked in again in a few days to have the work done a second time, as he felt the benefit instantly 🙌🏼 I’m excited to see how his cupping marks have healed and to see if the adhesions and knots have completely released 💚

Deep tissue release on a few niggles in my clients shoulders and upper back today 🙌🏼 Karen is always active & doesn’t tend to work on mobility / stretching so today’s session was focusing on releasing tension and any niggles in and around her shoulders. Her cupping had slight bruising but overall she has good blood flow & hardly any stagnant flow around these muscles 🙌🏼

My client requested a deep back massage with cupping. Leanne is the perfect example of healthy cupping marks, as she has no dark stagnant areas where the toxins are being held (on the last pic).
These types of massages are amazing for people who are always active like Leanne, and also as a “maintenance” type of treatment to prevent knots and tightness, rather than just repairing injuries after them being damaged, as they mobilise the muscles, bring blood flow to areas that are needing it & break up knots with adhesions.

My client had a deep tissue massage with adhesion breakdown, trigger pointing and PNF stretching. Claire is constantly active with tightness in her hamstrings and calves so we focussed on this area.
Can’t wait to see the results of how Claire feels in the next few days 🙌🏼

My client Connor is an avid golf player, CrossFitter, weightlifter & is into his all around well-being and fitness. He wanted a session involving deep tissue massage and cupping techniques aimed at alleviating tension in his back and shoulders. Given his recurring left shoulder discomfort, special attention was directed towards addressing this area, in conjunction with his back. Strategic placement of cups extended along the entire musculature of the back, reaching upward towards the shoulders. The primary objective of this appointment centered around the release of adhesions, knots, and manipulation of the fascia. However, Connor maintains a routine of daily mobility exercises and stretches, resulting in minimal notable knots or tightness. BUT, the advantages of a sports massage remain evident, somebody who doesn’t exclusively experience pain or injury still will reap the positive outcomes of a sports massage.
The second picture was immediately as I released the cups, some areas show toxins accumulation, healthy blood flow and severe stagnation.
Most of the bruising will go down in a few days - but you also may not bruise at all! It’s different for every person.

We can’t wait to see Connor’s input in the next few days as to how he feels & seeing the bruising healing 🙌🏼

Yesterdays client was the lovely 💚 who requested a deep tissue massage on her lower back. Laura is persistent with her training, with weightlifting & CrossFit. She is constantly active so we did testing on her glutes and hamstrings to see if one is compensating more than another, resulting in us finding that she had a few tight knots in her vastus lateralis (the outside of her thigh) and slight knots in her piriformis (behind the glute max). Further on we went to work on her QL muscles. These are muscles that extend, stabilises and laterally flex the lumbar spine, so if this is tight it may be pulling the lower pain resulting in pain, so trigger pointing this muscle really helps with releasing tension and potential adhesions.

We did sciatic nerve flossing, a technique used to move the nerve and stretch it up and throughout the body to see if she has any sciatic pain. Laura didn’t, only to her thigh which could mean she has Piriformis tightness / issues.

We also did trigger pointing, active muscle release on her back & PNF stretching on her hamstrings. The goal of this appointment was to see what kind of issues we were working with, hence the special tests involved, to relax muscles, work any knots and deep adhesion with fascia release.

Benefits of dry cupping ⬇️

- Breaks up adhesions as it’s working the muscle fibres to release
- Improves ROM (range of motion) as it allows flexibility / mobility within joints due to the muscles relaxing and becoming more functional
- Alleviates pain as endorphins are released during a sports massage because they’re racing round the point of focus where the client is in pain, these reduce metabolic irritants so it makes the muscle relax sooner. This is because massage increases the blood supply travelling around the body, in particular the area of focus being treated. This in turn promotes the exchange of substances between cells, meaning nutrients are being delivered & waste being removed
- Fascia is a thin case of connective tissue around all organs & muscles. When the fascia is tight, it produces symptoms like pain, aching and difficulty sleeping. So by cupping working on the muscles it’s not only benefitting the muscle belly itself, but also ligaments, tendons, nerves, adhesions, knots and fascia
- Improvement of blood flow by the SM practitioner giving the flow a helping hand in flushing everything around the body. By doing so, this also helps with inflammation. Inflammation is when the body’s white blood cells enter the blood or tissues to protect from foreign objects, injury or infection. Some of the chemicals cause fluid to leak into your tissues, resulting in swelling (inflammation). So by doing a sports massage it decreases the swelling that isn’t necessarily needed

The “bruising” after having cupping isn’t like a regular bruise - they’re from blood and toxins being brought to the surface, rather than a direct blow like a bruise is formed. The bruising can last anything from 2-10 days but normally fades within a 7 day period

DRY CUPPING THERAPY NOW AVAILABLE 📣

Dry cupping is a technique used by most SM’s. This is a method of bringing the blood flow to muscle due to a suction vacuumed cup on the required body part.
Some facts about dry cupping are:

- Draws impurities and toxins away from the local tissues and organs towards the surface for elimination
- Alleviates pain due to the blood flow getting to the injured muscle fibres, by doing this it’s good for inflammation too
- Reduces muscle tension and also in the fascia as it releases tension and adhesions loosen
- “Bruising” will last anything from a few days to a week, this isn’t anything to worry about, as it’s just the localised blood being drawn to the tissue

This treatment will be an “add on” technique, on any appointment that you’d like.
This will be an extra fee of £5 (for now). This may change in the coming future as these are still my introductory offers 👀
