Half Lift (Ardha Uttanasana)
Half Lift, known in Sanskrit as Ardha Uttanasana, is a standing yoga posture often practiced during Surya Namaskar (Sun Salutations). It is usually performed between Forward Fold and Plank or Chaturanga.
🌿 Benefits of Half Lift
1. Strengthens the back
• Activates spinal muscles and improves posture.
2. Stretches hamstrings and calves
• Gently lengthens the back of the legs.
3. Improves posture
• Teaches spinal alignment and core engagement.
4. Builds core strength
• Engages abdominal muscles to support the spine.
5. Prepares the body for deeper folds
• Warms up muscles safely before full forward bends.
6. Enhances body awareness
• Encourages proper alignment and balance
⚠️ Tips
• Avoid rounding the back.
• Bend knees slightly if hamstrings feel tight.
• Engage core to protect the lower back.

Side angle pose is a strong, grounded standing yoga posture that combines stability with length and openness. One leg bends deeply while the other stays straight and anchored, creating a wide, solid base. The torso extends over the bent leg and lengthens through the side body, while the top arm reaches overhead, forming a long diagonal line from the back foot to the fingertips. The pose feels both powerful and expansive—steady and rooted through the legs, yet open and stretched through the hips, ribs, chest, and shoulders. It builds strength, flexibility, and balance all at once.
