This World Alzheimer's Month, we want to recognise the millions of families and carers who provide incredible support to people living with dementia.

Caring for someone with dementia can be challenging, but there is help available. It's important to look after your own wellbeing too. Please know that you are not alone in this journey.

If you're a man aged 65 or over, you may be invited for an abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA) screening.

An AAA is a bulge in the main blood vessel that runs from your heart down through your tummy. They are more common in men aged 65 and over.

The screening is a quick and painless ultrasound scan of your tummy. It only takes about 10 minutes and is done in a private room by a trained professional.

Most people get a normal result, but if an aneurysm is found, it can be monitored and treated.

If you've received an invitation for a screening, please book your appointment.

It's Blood Cancer Awareness Month! Did you know that blood cancer is the 5th most common cancer in the UK? It's not a single disease, but a group of over 100 different types, including leukaemia, lymphoma, and myeloma.

The symptoms can often be vague and easily mistaken for other common illnesses like a cold or the flu. These can include:

Unexplained fatigue

Frequent infections

Unexplained bruising or bleeding

Drenching night sweats

Unexplained weight loss

If you are experiencing any of these symptoms persistently or have a concern, please don't hesitate to book an appointment to speak with a GP. Early diagnosis is key.
