A few months ago, I realised that I wasn’t as self-disciplined as I used to be.
I was doing things as and when I felt like it, which isn’t a problem but in my case as a busy mum of 4, with a household to run, clients to see and an online business to build, a lack of structure leads to unnecessary problems and challenges here and there.
So I decided to get train my self-discipline muscle!
But here’s a very important distinction …
I didn’t bully myself into it.
I didn’t force myself to do horrible things.
I purposefully chose interests of mine that I would devote my time and energy to.
And I’m not talking about playing Triple Match all day long 😉
So for the past 50 days I have
* created content every day
* brushed up on my Spanish language skills at least once per day
* answered a relationship wellness question with my partner every day
* exercised my body in some way
* proactively engaged in one of my coaching programs or a time-limited challenged every day
These things now feel like part of my daily routine.
I am seeing huge improvements and much less resistance.
And all it took was one decision.
I wanted to embody a new level of self-mastery and conscious self-leadership.
It’s easy to let things go.
It’s easy to forget to do the healthy things.
It’s easy to say you’ll do it tomorrow.
The truth is, now is all we’ve got.
If I am not who I want to be now, I am not who I want to be.
And I’m done with wasting my time not feeling how I want to feel or being who I want to be.
It’s easy to feel good about myself when I act in ways that I respect and value.
I feel even better when I do things for myself that are fun and that allow me to experience more of what I want.
In doing so, self-discipline has become a positive habit that I get to strengthen on a daily basis.
What’s one small thing you can do to strengthen your self-discipline?
With Love, Marlena
