Motiv8ed Support is a new social enterprise offering tailor-made support packages to clients with mental health issues and people with other complex needs. In 2010 we identified a gap in support provision for a flexible, responsive, transparent and independent service with experienced, qualified and confident workers, an alternative to the ‘mainstream’ providers. Our clients include people in receipt of individual care budgets and those who fund their support privately. We pride ourselves on the high quality of our support packages and feedback from family and professionals has been overwhelmingly positive especially for our clients who have been assessed as having associated risks and/or complex needs. To ensure a consistently high quality service for our clients we offer a rapid response from initial contact either from professionals or self-referral, a mutually agreed plan of action, workers with, highly developed sensitivity and rapport skills, a safe, supportive service, developmental and risk-taking work (we currently provide individual support on acute in-patient psychiatric units and in facilities that offer more intensive psychiatric care).We work closely with voluntary services including SPARC, the Dual Diagnosis Network and the Wellbeing Centre, and are registered with MIND. We offer a consistent, seamless, high quality service to their clients at a mutually acceptable rate and fee. We aim to provide the best value for money service available to clients and statutory purchasers. Moreover we offer a weekend and out-of-office hours service and are flexible enough to offer urgent response (by prior negotiation).We intend to reduce the burden of work endured by care co-ordinators by offering such a service and to lessen the demands placed on established, statutory services.
