My Approach and Specialisations

My integrative approach to counselling allows me to draw from various therapeutic modalities, tailoring my methods to best suit your unique needs and preferences. At the core of my practice is the belief in the power of the therapeutic relationship as a catalyst for change. I specialise in four key areas:

1. **Relationship Issues including experiences of abuse**: Whether you're struggling with communication, trust, intimacy, or navigating a breakup, I can help you understand relationship patterns and develop healthier connections.

2. **Men's Mental Health**: I offer specialised support for men dealing with issues such as societal pressures, emotional expression, work-life balance, fertility and identity. My approach recognises the unique challenges men face in seeking and engaging with mental health support.

3. **Trauma Recovery**: Using evidence-based approaches, I help individuals process and heal from various forms of trauma, including childhood experiences, accidents, or abuse.

4. **Loss and Breavement**: Provide a safe space to explore feelings of sadness, anger, confusion, and other emotions associated with loss.

I do some work with Beacon Counselling and they’re really struggling right now.

They support so many people with their mental health across Stockport and beyond — and without urgent donations, they might have to close their doors.

That would be a massive loss to the community, especially at a time when support is more needed than ever.

If you can spare anything, please consider donating. Every little bit genuinely helps.

🎥 Is it just a cliché that men would rather throw themselves into risky sports than talk about their feelings?

For many men, societal norms and stereotypes create barriers to seeking therapy. There’s this idea that men need to “tough it out” or handle emotions on their own—and often, mental health struggles get expressed in ways that don’t always look like sadness. Things like anger, withdrawal, or even risky behaviors can actually be signs of deeper struggles.

Therapy isn’t about “fixing” you—it’s about giving you the tools to handle life’s challenges in a way that makes sense for YOU. It’s a space to figure things out, not change who you are.

What if taking care of your mental health was just another way to challenge yourself and grow?

💭 We often know what it takes to change our bodies: repetition, discipline, and showing up day after day. But what about our minds?

🧠 Changing your mindset isn’t as simple as learning a new concept or reading a self-help book. It takes action, focus, and consistent practice to reshape how we think and feel about ourselves.

🌟 Like someone learning a new language, we need to go over certain ideas—self-love, self-forgiveness, kindness—again and again until they become second nature. It’s not easy, but it’s worth it.

If you’ve been feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or unsure how to take the next step in your mental health journey, know that you don’t have to figure it out alone.

✨ Transformation starts with one action—one small step repeated daily.

💬 If you’re ready to make real changes in your mindset and mental well-being, I’m here to help. Let’s create new habits and routines that support the best version of you.

📩 DM me or visit my profile to learn how we can work together to start building the change you’re ready for.
