We don’t lose our inner child, she just gets buried under school runs, the mental load and the pressure to do everything really, really well.

Mine still lives inside me, she’s a bit wild and enjoys twirling to Kate bush in the kitchen and keeping an eye out for fairy rings in pretty woods.

Lately I’ve been trying to let her lead more by peeling back the grown up layers that are a bit crispy if I’m honest and not really mine.

Because the version of me that asks weird questions, gives stones as gifts and enjoys making daisy chains

is not childish

she’s free

Almost a decade of being a Mum.
They soak up the early years but there is so much to be said for the tween season.
Probably like playing Minecraft in creative mode which I hear is pretty chill & fun with just the occasional mod🧟‍♂️

started this beautiful trend with ‘I met my younger self for coffee’.
It’s interesting where you go and find out what you need.
I’m forever struggling to be fully present and appreciative. I’m either caught up in nostalgia or digging for clues into the future, wondering if the grass is greener.
It’s usually not
and me ten years younger would be well pleased with what the decade has given.
Those baby feet are so cute though. And if only you could jump back into the photos for a little bit and tell past you to make the most of it.

I am in shock with what has happened yesterday.
I cannot even comprehend what life now is for those that have been victim to this horrendous act of violence.
As a mother, as a mental health practitioner, as a women, as a human
I feel the tugs of hopelessness
but if I fall down hole then hate wins
There will have been a turn of events, probably many little incidences as why this has happened, why that terror has been unleashed and why he chose our most innocent
and I truly believe, it could have been prevented
If we just fall into the trap of condemning it as evil, subhuman, bring the death penalty back etc etc etc
nothing will change and this will happen time and time again. He is human and he is a child, wtf has happened here?!
Society is deeply unsettled right now and it takes the collective to become curious into the why, and understand we all have a role to play.
Don’t let this attack on these beautiful children cause more polarisation and hate.
There is enough of that right now
