Self-compassion is so important to help you navigate through life's challenges.

Here are some simple ways you can practice self compassion:
1️⃣ Practice speaking kindly to yourself - validate how you are feeling and think about how you would speak to a friend going through the same situation.
2️⃣ Take time for yourself to do nice things - whether this is a hobby you enjoy or even something as simple as sitting down for a cup of tea, taking time out for yourself is so important!
3️⃣ Be proud of the things you are managing well, no matter how big or small.
4️⃣ Don't be afraid to set boundaries and give yourself what you need.
5️⃣ Take things at your own pace and avoid comparing yourself to others.
6️⃣ Ask for help if you need it - remember you are not alone and it is okay to ask for support.

Have you ever heard of the Boom and Bust Cycle?

The cycle of boom and bust refers to when you may feel good and push yourself to do lots of activity and then end up feeling exhausted as a result, needing to spend several days to rest and recover. This can be particularly common in those experiencing fatigue and long term physical health conditions and can lead to burn out overtime.

If this sounds familiar then thinking about spoon theory as a way to pace yourself can be really helpful - swipe for more information!

If you want more support with managing your physical health alongside your mental health, we are here to help you. To refer into our service visit www.thebiglifegroup.com/stockporttalkingtherapies or call 0161 480 2020.
