✨ Celebrating a special night for an incredible cause ✨

On Friday 27th March, our Manchester team were proud to attend the Be You Ball at The Monastery, Manchester, in support of the Child Brain Injury Trust

It was a truly inspiring evening, bringing people together to raise awareness and vital funds for a charity that provides essential support to children and families affected by brain injury.

We’re incredibly proud of our team for taking the time to support such an important cause and for representing our values beyond the workplace. 💙

Thank you to the Child Brain Injury Trust for the amazing work you do, and to everyone involved in organising such a meaningful event.

A few weeks ago I shared the red flags to look out for when choosing a care provider.

(you can read it here - https://diaryofacaremanager.co.uk/the-blog/f/how-to-choose-a-care-agency---red-flags)

So here’s the flip side 👇

What makes us different — and why people choose us.

- We’re not the cheapest
Cheap care = poor outcomes.

- We look after our staff
Happy teams. Low turnover. Consistent care.

- Real clinical oversight
Five nurses in‑house. Proper, hands‑on training.

- 250+ LOCAL support workers
Covering Greater Manchester & Yorkshire.

- Never failed a CQC inspection
Zero fails. Ever.

- Bespoke, real‑time care reports
Litigation, rehab — whatever you need recorded, we customise it.

- We know the industry inside out
Litigation, councils, ICBs — we understand how the system works.

- No over‑promising
Complex care is tough. We tell the truth and fix issues fast.

- Big on giving back
Charities, events, fundraising, Headway Salford — giving back matters.

- 16+ years of trusted care
Strong reputation. Constantly improving.

- Bonus: A genuinely personal touch
Clients know me and my teams - not just the company.

I stay involved, I stay connected, and I'm accountable for everything we do. And so are my managers and teams.

We a real people doing our best for real families

We are Launching the North West’s First Support Worker Conference!

Support workers are the backbone of our sector — vital, skilled, compassionate — yet too often overlooked. So Sue Pattison, Ryan Price and I decided to do something about it.

On Thursday the 8th of October 2026, we are bringing together 200 support workers from across the region for a free, skills-focused, “we value you” conference designed specifically for them.

But here’s the challenge…

To keep the event completely free for every support worker who attends, we need the industry to stand behind this.
🎟️ Cost to sponsor one place: £75
✅ Your business name on sponsored places
✅ Social media exposure
✅ The knowledge that you’re directly investing in a workforce that keeps our industry moving
✅ And a warm fuzzy feeling — because this really matters

We’ve lined up brilliant speakers from across the MDT and curated exhibitors who deliver real community impact but rarely get spotlighted at traditional events.

This is an opportunity to champion the people who support our clients every single day.

If your organisation can sponsor a place — or several — please drop me a message. Every contribution helps us make this happen.

Let’s show support workers how valued they truly are. 💙
— Danny, Ryan & Sue

P.S. We are not making a penny from this. Any surplus goes directly to Headway Salford, Trafford & North Manchester.

We brush our teeth every day.
But how often do we maintain our minds?

Looking after your mind is the same as looking after everything else.

Arguably, it’s the most important.

Yet we constantly sabotage it, somehow convincing ourselves we’re the exception and don't need it.

We brush our teeth daily to keep our mouths healthy.
We go to the gym to take care of our bodies.
We eat well to nourish ourselves.
We sleep to recover.

All routine. All normal.

But when it comes to mental wellbeing, we often get in our own way.

Why?

Because the benefits of mental self-care are quiet and gradual.

Meditation, journaling, reflection, breathing, time in nature — they don’t give us instant feedback like a workout or a good night’s sleep. Their effects compound slowly over time.

It’s also because mental self-care often requires us to slow down and face what’s going on in our heads. And if we’re honest, that can feel uncomfortable. It’s often easier to stay busy, distracted, and keep pushing forward.

Then there’s life itself.

Work.
Family.
Responsibilities.

The things that are important but not urgent are usually the first to slip.

Ironically, those are the things that help us handle everything else better.

The mind needs regular maintenance, just like the body.

A few minutes of journaling.
A short walk.
Ten minutes of breathing or meditation.
A moment to step back and reflect.

Small things. Done consistently.

The strange paradox is this:
The moments we feel we don’t have time for these things are usually the moments we need them most.

For me journaling, deep breathing and meditation first thing in the morning and my none negotiables.

I also try to stretch or take a brief walk during the work day.

Then reflect on my day before bed, especially what went well and stay off my phone after 8pm.

What small thing do you do to look after your mind each day?

✨Compliment Glow-Up for Gaby✨

Our newly Registered Branch Manager, Gaby, has already started collecting compliments, and honestly, we’re here for it. 🥰✨

There’s something so uplifting and genuinely good for the soul about hearing how your work is landing with others.

Here’s what one of our care colleagues had to say:

Keep sprinkling that magic, Gaby! ✨💫

We love to see it. 🌻

💚 March is Brain Injury Awareness Month

Every March, communities come together to shine a light on the millions of people living with the lasting effects of brain injury. This month is dedicated to raising awareness, supporting survivors, and championing early intervention and research.

Brain injuries can happen to anyone — through accidents, falls, sports, illness, or violence — yet their impact can last a lifetime.
Increased understanding leads to better support, less stigma, and more resources for recovery.

💚 Prestige Nursing & Care proudly specialise in Brain Injury Support, including support for individuals living with Acquired Brain Injury (ABI), complex neurological care and spinal injuries. Our teams work alongside multidisciplinary professionals to provide tailored, high‑quality care for children and adults, helping them live safely and independently at home.

💬 How you can help this month:

👍Share information to raise awareness
👍Support local and national brain injury organisations / care providers
👍Check in on someone you know who may be struggling
👍Advocate for accessibility and compassionate care

Let’s work together to make sure no one faces a brain injury alone.

🌟Meet the Team🌟

Please meet our owner and director, Daniel Bamber — a proud family man, music lover, passionate blogger, and football fanatic with a drive that inspires everyone around him.

Along with his brother, Daniel founded Prestige Nursing & Care in 2009 with a clear mission: to deliver outstanding, person-centred homecare that treats every client as an individual, with dignity, respect and genuine compassion.

What began as a small local service has grown into a trusted care provider supporting people across the community with a wide range of needs — from companionship and personal care through to complex and specialist support. Throughout this growth, Daniel has remained closely involved in the day-to-day running of the service, ensuring that quality, safety and kindness are never compromised.

With over 15 years of experience in the care sector, Daniel is deeply committed to building a service that families can rely on and that care professionals are proud to be part of. He believes that exceptional care starts with well-supported, well-trained and valued staff, and has invested heavily in developing strong leadership teams, robust clinical governance and a positive workplace culture.

Above all, Daniel is passionate about making a real difference to people’s lives — something that has remained at the heart of the business since the very first client was supported back in 2009.

You can also follow Daniel’s blog 'Diary Of A Care Manager' on numerous platforms where he shares honest insights into life, business, mindsets, faith, work, ethics and….well….what it says on the tin, life as a care manager.
