💚 March is Brain Injury Awareness Month

Every March, communities come together to shine a light on the millions of people living with the lasting effects of brain injury. This month is dedicated to raising awareness, supporting survivors, and championing early intervention and research.

Brain injuries can happen to anyone — through accidents, falls, sports, illness, or violence — yet their impact can last a lifetime.
Increased understanding leads to better support, less stigma, and more resources for recovery.

💚 Prestige Nursing & Care proudly specialise in Brain Injury Support, including support for individuals living with Acquired Brain Injury (ABI), complex neurological care and spinal injuries. Our teams work alongside multidisciplinary professionals to provide tailored, high‑quality care for children and adults, helping them live safely and independently at home.

💬 How you can help this month:

👍Share information to raise awareness
👍Support local and national brain injury organisations / care providers
👍Check in on someone you know who may be struggling
👍Advocate for accessibility and compassionate care

Let’s work together to make sure no one faces a brain injury alone.

🌟Meet the Team🌟

Please meet our owner and director, Daniel Bamber — a proud family man, music lover, passionate blogger, and football fanatic with a drive that inspires everyone around him.

Along with his brother, Daniel founded Prestige Nursing & Care in 2009 with a clear mission: to deliver outstanding, person-centred homecare that treats every client as an individual, with dignity, respect and genuine compassion.

What began as a small local service has grown into a trusted care provider supporting people across the community with a wide range of needs — from companionship and personal care through to complex and specialist support. Throughout this growth, Daniel has remained closely involved in the day-to-day running of the service, ensuring that quality, safety and kindness are never compromised.

With over 15 years of experience in the care sector, Daniel is deeply committed to building a service that families can rely on and that care professionals are proud to be part of. He believes that exceptional care starts with well-supported, well-trained and valued staff, and has invested heavily in developing strong leadership teams, robust clinical governance and a positive workplace culture.

Above all, Daniel is passionate about making a real difference to people’s lives — something that has remained at the heart of the business since the very first client was supported back in 2009.

You can also follow Daniel’s blog 'Diary Of A Care Manager' on numerous platforms where he shares honest insights into life, business, mindsets, faith, work, ethics and….well….what it says on the tin, life as a care manager.

The number of home care agencies has exploded — from around 8,000 in 2010 to over 13,500 today.

But growth doesn’t equal quality.

Demand has risen, inspections haven’t kept pace, and low barriers to entry mean anyone can set up shop. And while there is excellent care out there… there’s also a lot of poor‑quality provision.

Here are 6 red flags to watch for when choosing a home care provider:
1. They’re cheap
Good care is never the lowest bidder.

2. Staff travelling long distances
Reliable care is built on local teams.

3. Constant office staff turnover
If you speak to someone new every time, that’s a problem.

4. They say “yes” to everything
Overpromising = underdelivering.

5. Poor communication
You shouldn’t have to chase for updates or clarity.

6. Newly registered + no inspection yet
Registration alone tells you nothing.

Final thought:
The growth in home care reflects system pressure — not rising quality.
Choice only works when it’s an informed choice.
If you support clients, commission care, or work in the sector — this stuff matters.

Couldn't have put it any better.

For the last 12 Days of December, as we move into Christmas, I am posting 12 reasons to be positive.

Negativity, outrage and division reliably capture human attention — and modern media systems are built to monetise attention.

We are hard wired to look for it and they pray on it.

At the same time, unless we actively look for it, we are overlooking all the amazing stuff that goes on around us everyday.

In your home, in your town, in your city, in your country and in the world, there is good s**t happening everywhere you look.

You just have to actually look.

Enjoy and Merry Christmas.
