Our 80‑mile hike for Women's Aid is now just one week away. The nerves are kicking in but so is the purpose.

Women’s Aid supports women at the very point the system fails them. And the documents we’ve received over the last year make that failure impossible to ignore.

The Ministry of Justice confirmed in writing that there is no legal requirement to call for help, even when someone is in immediate danger of death.

The CPS confirmed that su***de breaks the chain of causation, even in the context of abuse.

The Coroner confirmed Danielle died in the aftermath of a violent argument, yet the law still treats abuse‑linked su***des as “non‑suspicious”.

These laws are outdated. They do not reflect coercive control. They do not reflect modern understandings of domestic abuse. And they do not protect victims.

Women’s Aid sees the consequences every day.

✉️ 𝘼 𝙡𝙚𝙩𝙩𝙚𝙧 𝙩𝙤 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝘿𝙚𝙥𝙖𝙧𝙩𝙢𝙚𝙣𝙩 𝙛𝙤𝙧 𝙀𝙙𝙪𝙘𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 ✉️

We are asking for you all to reach out to the Department for Education to encourage better education in schools around first aid and calling for help.

Our last reply stated that first aid is currently part of the national curriculum, however we believe it is currently not enough.

If a Duty To Rescue is implemented in UK law, then EVERYONE would need to understand How and When to call the emergency service 🚨

For this law to be successful, education is essential. We believe everyone should know how to call for help and also learn basic first aid skills.. starting at school❗️

Did you know In the UK, someone can watch you die and face no legal consequences?

Other countries — 🇫🇷 France, 🇩🇪 Germany, 🇮🇹 Italy, 🇪🇸 Spain, 🇨🇭 Switzerland, 🇳🇱 Netherlands, 🇦🇺 Australia, 🇸🇬 Singapore already have Duty of Care laws that make compassion a legal responsibility.It’s time for Britain to catch up. Support us because no one should be left to
die.

A life lost because someone intentionally delayed medial help❗️

In many other countries, these actions would result in prosecution - but not in the UK.
In the UK you can stand by knowing someone’s life is at risk, FAITH want to change that!
