Insulin Resistance – The Root of PCOS
One of the main underlying causes of PCOS is insulin resistance. When the body cells become less responsive to insulin, the pancreas produces more to compensate. This excess insulin can stimulate the ovaries to produce more androgens (male hormones), leading to symptoms like irregular periods, acne, weight gain, and excess hair growth.

Managing insulin resistance through a low glycemic diet, regular exercise, and weight control can significantly improve PCOS symptoms and reduce long-term complications like type 2 diabetes.

What is MASH?
MASH means Metabolic dysfunction-Associated Steatohepatitis.
It was earlier called NAFLD — Non-Alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease.

The name changed because:
The old name only said not caused by alcohol.
The new name (MASH) tells the real reason — fat in the liver due to problems in metabolism, like high blood sugar, obesity, and unhealthy lifestyle.

What happens in MASH?
In MASH, fat builds up in the liver and causes inflammation and liver damage.
Over time, this can lead to:
Liver scarring (fibrosis)
Liver failure
Liver cancer

Most people feel no symptoms in early stages, so it stays hidden for years.

Who is at risk?
1. People with diabetes or high blood sugar
2. Those who are overweight or obese
3. People with high cholesterol or blood pressure
4. Those who don’t exercise
5. People who eat a lot of sugar, soft drinks, and fast food
6. Too much sugar (especially in drinks and desserts) is one of the most common causes of fat buildup in the liver.

How to prevent MASH?
1. Reduce sugar intake – say no to fizzy drinks, sweets, and junk food
2. Eat more vegetables, fruits, and home-cooked meals
3. Walk or exercise at least 30 minutes daily
4. Try to lose extra weight if overweight
5. Check your liver, sugar, and cholesterol levels regularly
6. Control your diabetes and blood pressure

What studies show:
* Losing just 7–10% of your body weight can improve liver health and may reverse MASH.

Final Message:
MASH is a silent but serious liver disease.
But with simple lifestyle changes, it can be prevented or even reversed.
Take care of your liver — it works for you every single day.

The measles virus is one of the most contagious and infectious diseases known, and the current outbreak is ongoing. As cases rise, vaccinating your children is the most effective way to keep them safe.

High childhood vaccination rates help to create widespread protection against contagious diseases, like measles, within communities. The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends all children receive the measles, mumps and rubella (MMR) vaccine at age 12-15 months, then again at 4-6 years to protect them from these diseases.
