May is Mental Health Awareness Month so I had to post as this is important to me.
Starting a new business.... well yep its stressful put strain on the family but we are now coming out of the other side.
Mental Health at work and Wellbeing is important to me as the Director and something I really looked into while building the foundations of L&J.
So here's what we have done.....
Changed the narrative of the "CLEANER" we don't just clean we make space's healthy so take away the old CLEANER tiltle and welcome my "Hygiene Technicians" Why? Because it empowers the emplooyees more and takes away the oh I'm just a cleaner.
One Well being day a month paid to wind down and relax because cleaning is a tough job and takes it toll.
All the Hygiene Technician's are paid above the Living Wage no minimum wage showing them their worth, does it affect my bottom line? Yes but these are the people that turn up day in day out to build L&J.
They receive monthly surveys to have their say and can call the Managing Director at any time (Me)
They can book coaching sessions with me as training in LNP and CBT why? Because they matter...
I ensure they have their say, they are listened to and valued and in return they give me their best.
So if your staff are spending their time working around you, make them feel as we do that they are not just employees but Family and that is the L&J Way...
