What a fantastic Culture Day we had 🌍🎉

It was wonderful to see team members, residents, families, friends and members of the wider community coming together to celebrate the many cultures that make Askham such a special place.

From delicious food and music to dancing, henna and plenty of laughter throughout the day, there was something for everyone to enjoy. The bouncy castle proved a big hit with our younger visitors, while many others enjoyed exploring the different dishes, cultures and traditions being shared.

A huge thank you to everyone who brought food and helped make the day such a success. Every dish was prepared with such care and generosity, giving everyone the opportunity to experience flavours from around the world 🍽️

A very special thank you also goes to Manu, our Head of Care and Nursing Services, and her family for their brilliant dancing performance, which brought so much energy and enjoyment to the celebrations 👏

Culture Day is always one of the highlights of the year, and we are incredibly proud to celebrate the diversity, inclusion and community spirit that continue to shape life across Askham 💛

Our recent Quiz Night was a lovely evening filled with laughs, friendly competition and a great atmosphere 🎉❓

It was wonderful to see everyone enjoying the event together and we were especially proud to have some of our residents from Askham Grove joining us on the night and being part of the fun alongside the wider community 💛

How do you make it rain in England? Launch a weekly BBQ menu of course! ☔🔥

Last week marked the start of our new Wednesday BBQ days, with residents enjoying gammon steaks, garlic chicken thighs, cheeseburgers, hotdogs with homemade onion relish, potato salad, onion rings and mozzarella sticks 🍔🌭

The new menu has already gone down brilliantly across the homes, and we’re looking forward to many more BBQ Wednesdays over the summer 💛

Next Thursday, we’ll be celebrating one of our favourite annual events, Culture Day 🌍🎉

A day full of colour, music, dancing, delicious food and the many cultures that make Askham such a diverse and welcoming community.

Culture Day gives our team members the opportunity to proudly share their backgrounds, traditions and food, while bringing our residents, their families and the wider community together to enjoy the day alongside them 💛

This week for our Armchair Travel, we travelled to Hawaii 🌺🌴

Our team members had great fun learning the hula, while our residents enjoyed being part of the laughter, music and cheerful atmosphere throughout the session 💃🏻🕺🏽

There were lots of smiles across the home, with everyone enjoying the chance to relax together, have a laugh and bring a little bit of sunshine indoors for the day 💛

Last week, our Executive Chef Tyler Horton spent time with B&R Dining Restaurant in March, working together on IDDSI awareness and safe dining 🍽️

The collaboration focused on sharing knowledge around texture-modified meals, safe testing methods and modern presentation techniques, with the wider aim of creating more inclusive dining experiences for people with specialist dietary requirements.

We’re also excited to explore future restaurant-style experiences together for our residents 💛
