When is it good to stretch? ๐Ÿค”

If a muscle feels very tight and painful, stretching it straight away might not always be the best idea. In fact, pushing into a deep stretch too soon can sometimes make things worse.

When a muscle is in pain, itโ€™s often your bodyโ€™s way of protecting the area โ€” forcing it to stretch can cause more irritation or even small tears.

๐ŸŒฟ What to do instead:
โœจ Start with gentle movement, massage, or warmth to help the muscle relax.
โœจ Avoid forcing a stretch or holding it through pain.
โœจ Once the area feels calmer, gentle stretching can then help restore flexibility.
โœจ Deep breathing and slow, mindful movement can also ease tension naturally.

So remember โ€” listen to your body. Stretching works best when muscles are ready, not when theyโ€™re angry! ๐Ÿ’†โ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿ’›

๐ŸŽพ What Is Tennis Elbow?

Tennis elbow โ€” or lateral elbow tendinopathy โ€” is a common condition that causes pain and tenderness around the outer part of the elbow. It often develops when the tendons that attach to the bone on the outside of your elbow become overloaded, especially through repetitive gripping, lifting, or wrist movements.

Despite the name, it doesnโ€™t just affect tennis players! Many people who do repetitive tasks like typing, carpentry, or using tools can develop this condition too.

Typical signs include:

Gradual pain on the outer elbow

Discomfort when extending the wrist or fingers

Weakness when gripping or lifting objects

โ—๏ธModern research shows that tennis elbow isnโ€™t caused by inflammation but by overuse and strain on the tendons โ€” which is why the term has shifted from epicondylitis to tendinopathy.
