💛Lemon balm tincture

🌱Lemon balm (Melissa officianalis) is known to support relaxation and help with physical and mental wellbeing - helping to calm nerves, uplift mood and bring emotional balance.

🌱Lemon balm contains an enzyme (rosmarinic acid) that increases GABA in the brain. GABA is one of the inhibitory neurotransmitters, which is used by the brain to prevent over-excitement and bring balance. This produces a calming effect, making lemon balm useful for those with mild anxiety, nervousness or other stress related symptoms.

🌱Lemon balm has mild sedative properties so can also be a really helpful sleep aid - helping to fall asleep easier and to stay asleep for longer.

🌱Lemon balm has also traditionally been used to aid digestion - helping to soothe bloating, indigestion and gas.

✨ Lemon balm is traditionally ruled by Jupiter, so it embodies expansive, uplifting and joyful qualities. This tincture was started on a Thursday, the day of the week associated with Jupiter, to really draw on these energies.

🔮Lemon balm is believed to attract love and harmony, success and opportunities, and for healing emotional wounds. Symbolises feminine energy and intuition.

You will learn how to make a traditional Spring Tonic Oxymel, using raw honey and apple cider vinegar, along with spring herbs known for their cleansing benefits.

Fresh batch of fire cider available 🔥

Fire cider is a spicy, vinegar-based tonic used in folk medicine to support the immune system and improve digestion.
It’s absolutely amazing for clearing congestion and warming the body up ♥️

Can be taken as a daily shot, or diluted with water as a longer drink or tea.
Or you can add honey for a sweet and spicy kick!

After a very cosy, restful and restorative start to year, things are beginning to gently get moving here again 🌀

A beautiful, and very wet, afternoon at the well for Imbolc last Sunday, giving gratitude and thanks for the water of life, freely flowing from the depths of the earth, rising up like the seeds that will soon be sprouting into life around us 🌱

Also sharing my available remedies - tinctures, glycerites, elderberry syrup and fire cider.
I’ll be at on Sunday and bringing all of these with me 🙏

And I’ll hopefully be starting herbalism workshops again in Spring 🌸♥️

Join us as we welcome and celebrate the winter solstice at the community gardens. We will be exploring traditional and practical herbal remedies for immunity, warmth, and resilience during the autumn and winter months.

We will be making and taking home our own homemade Fire Cider, a classic, spicy herbal tonic and our own herbal balms to take home with us.

Whether you're new to herbalism or deepening your own practice, this is a chance to connect with the season through plants and community.
