From Saturday 1st November 2025, Corby Urgent Care Centre will be transferring to a new provider. From this date, the service will no longer be delivered by OneMedicare. The new provider is DHU Health Care CIC.

Please be assured that nothing will change for patients on the day of the handover. Corby Urgent Care Centre will continue to operate seven days a week, from 8am to 8pm, supporting patients who walk in or are referred via NHS 111 or their GP for urgent care needs.

After the 1st November this page will be deactivated and any social media updates about Corby Urgent Care Centre will be posted on the DHU Health Care CIC page instead here: https://www.facebook.com/DHUHealthCare

Finally, we would like to take this opportunity to thank the local community, our dedicated staff, and the local healthcare teams we’ve worked with throughout our time delivering this service. It has been a privilege to provide this service over the last 6 years.

Think pharmacy first and get seen by your local community pharmacy team.

🚑 Need help fast – but it’s not life-threatening?

The NHS in Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland has shared new advice to help you get the right care quickly. Just follow two simple steps:

👉 Step 1: Try to manage the problem yourself, or get help from:
• Your local pharmacy
• NHS 111 online
• The NHS App

👉 Step 2: If that doesn’t work, or the problem is more serious, contact your GP practice or call NHS 111 (when we’re closed). We’ll help arrange the right appointment – including same-day appointments if needed.

✅ This way, you’ll get the right care from the right professional and avoid long waits or unnecessary trips to walk-in services.

📢 Important update about Cervical Screening Results

From September 2025, the way some cervical screening results are sent is changing.
• Normal results (where no further tests are needed, and you’re placed back into routine recall) will now usually be sent digitally through the NHS App.
• You’ll receive a notification in the NHS App. If you don’t have notifications switched on, you may also get an SMS reminder to check your NHS App.
• If you don’t read the NHS App message within 72 hours, or if you don’t use the NHS App, you’ll still receive your result by post.

👉 Abnormal results (where a referral to colposcopy is needed) will continue to be sent by letter for now.

Please note: if you use the NHS App to view your GP health records, you may see your result there before the formal letter or message arrives.

What you need to do:
• If you haven’t already, download the NHS App and turn on notifications: www.nhs.uk/nhs-app/
• Be aware that from September, your cervical screening results may arrive via the NHS App first.

This change follows the successful rollout of digital screening invitations and reminders earlier this year, with most patients now receiving these digitally.

Download the NHS App, or open the NHS website in a web browser, to set up and log in to your NHS account. Owned and run by the NHS, your NHS account is a simple and secure way to access a range of NHS services online.

📢 Important update about Mounjaro (Tirzepatide) prescriptions in Leicester, Leicestershire, and Rutland (LLR).

Please be aware that there are strict guidelines on who can be prescribed Mounjaro — even if you have diabetes.

❌ Non-diabetic patients: Mounjaro cannot currently be prescribed by GP surgeries.

✅ For patients with Type 2 diabetes, Mounjaro may be prescribed (alongside diet & exercise) only if diabetes is not well controlled AND one of the following applies:
• Triple therapy with metformin + 2 other oral medications is ineffective, not tolerated, or unsuitable, AND BMI is 35+ with obesity-related health issues,
OR
• BMI is under 35, but:
• Insulin therapy would significantly affect work, or
• Weight loss would improve other obesity-related conditions.

⚖️ Note: Lower BMI thresholds (usually reduced by 2.5) apply for people from South Asian, Chinese, other Asian, Middle Eastern, Black African, or African-Caribbean backgrounds.
