The physical heart creates an electromagnetic field, as does the brain and the stomach amongst other organs.
The heart, both the physical and the non-physical, contains incredible intelligence.
When practising yoga in a group setting, the electromagnetic fields created begin to synchronise with those in the room.
my teachers share that the ‘mind is the seat of the heart’ meaning the heart and mind form an intimate relationship. Informing one and other mutually and interchangeably.
reminding me of a book gifted to me in 2014 by my dear friend Amna (see reference below).
Dr Mushtaq shares his spiritual and scientific understanding as a heart surgeon, of the way our hearts relate to one another in close proximity.
The electromagnetic field of the heart is expansive, where the mind and heart communicate with one another, as do our hearts communicate to those close to us in synchronicity.

Flame rises and falls with the direction of the wind.
the flame Illuminates the path of the wind,
greating ama
the sludge
waste.
Years of accumulation,
emotional stories taking refuge
within the caves of our hearts and bellies.
The breath
spiritus, pneuma, soul
flows in,
turning the flame toward the direction of the blockage,
to clear the channels,
the portal to eternity.
Waste dies, incinerated.
For without death, life cannot be.
Without pneuma, there is no life;
without life, there is no death.
Exhale
a strength,
the soul-guided flame,
having His fill,
to turn
turn to Her,
relieving Her of all burdens.
The flame rises,
like a phoenix,
emerging from the cave of Her heart,
to release,
to allow,
to merge
until the winds again
change.

Inspired by conversation, care and compassion radiated through those who choose to share hatha teachings. The value of giving and receiving being one and the same. Hatha yoga is an expression of this. How does this express without, practically and relationally?
One example: In Costa Rica, I spent an hour battling waves. No clue how to surf, but didn’t give up. Exhausted, a surf coach entertained came to meet me ashore. We spoke. He shared wisdom. I learned. Looking back realising the practice wasn’t for me but I enjoyed learning to be bad at something.
It taught me that we are nature, not separate or against it. I was so focused on where I wanted to be, i was blind to what was unfolding in front of me. Perhaps discernment meets the realisation of avoidance and reliability are also nature way, when to act, or not, without depletion is only realised when opposites come to equilibrium. Nature leads the mind follows.
Feeling Her movement receiving water’s call. Listening to wise teachers. Harmonising as nature.
Harmonising polarities in harmony with forces married, equilibrium reached. The first law of thermodynamics explains how energy cannot be destroyed it is moveable. Transmitting from one form to another.
One gives, and the other receives, the qualities of both reside in one and other.
These qualities exist in each other. Yoga, when practiced with breath-body-mind, becomes a kumbh for nature’s unconditional exchanges. 🌊🕊️
Inspired writing after attended a class with Kathrin of Heart of Yoga today and shared the Hydria Yoga Sutra 9, Yoga of Heart today by Mark Whitwell. We spoke of the relationship between polarities expressed as hatha yoga. Illuminating the realisation of hydridya, where giving and receiving is one and the same. Thank you all for your sharing and word gifts.
