Sorry to whoever lives in the old woodyard and had to stop their car for my son on Main Street about half an ago.
He’s autistic and has no awareness of danger.
He was scared because he didn’t understand why my car was parked in a different place than usual.

Joe is a sculptor, ceramicist, and owner of The Shire Workshops. Inspired from a young age by his father’s gargoyle sculptures, fantasy films, and nature documentaries, Joe began sculpting as a child and returned to it in adulthood with renewed passion. After a 15-year career in woodworking, he now works alongside his father, exploring and teaching a wide range of sculpture and pottery techniques, including kiln-free mediums. Joe is driven by the belief that creativity supports mental wellbeing and strives to make creative exploration accessible to all.

Alongside our 8-week Pottery and 8-week Sculpture courses, we open our doors to Art & Craft workshops on selected Saturdays, each featuring a variety of inspiring themes. From painting and paper sculpture to seasonal crafts and more, these sessions welcome all skill levels.
