I am passionate about working with people to help them reclaim the quality of life they are looking for, and do the things which make them happy. This ranges from helping an athlete overcome injury and maintain their peak fitness, to someone with an arthritic knee who wants to be able to continue walking their dog. I use a range of treatment approaches including exercise rehabilitation and strengthening, manual therapies, acupuncture, Pilates and yoga. I also teach APPI Pilates and Therapeutic Yoga 1:1 and in small groups.

Pilates Charity Fundraiser for Cancer Research UK…

As many of you know, both of my parents have had long & difficult battles with cancer but they continue to fight, I have decided I want to give something back to one of the charities that has enabled that fight and will keep moving cancer treatment forward to help others who have similar battles.

I had a planned back operation on Friday 26th January (microdiscectomy) that will put me out of action for a little while. Whilst I am unable to work and teach I have made some ‘mini’ Pilates class recordings available for those who wish to continue their practice. The classes are based on my Pilates for Athletes series so are higher level Pilates. There is no charge to access the classes but I have set up a Just Giving page for Cancer Research UK if you would like to make a donation. Why Pilates? Pilates is key for me in achieving consistency in training and enables me race strong. Last nights yoga class was challenging, a lot of fun too, but it required attention and focus. The key was being present in the moment, embracing the challenge but also accepting the modifications and aids when needed. Yoga is never about the pose, feel the movement, feel the breath, focus on the present. Appreciate the moment.

I DID IT!

I have passed my 200hour yoga teaching training certification! I have loved this journey and it has led to so much growth personally and professionally. Teaching is a passion of mine and I love to share the beauty and benefits of a regular yoga practice. I’ve put some of my practicum class exam feedback below to give you an insight into my teaching style and the care I put into my classes. As somebody who regularly doubts myself and lacks self-confidence I am super proud of this achievement & the feedback left me in (happy) tears!

BEAUTIFULLY REFERENCED: Huge well done on your commitment to the breath cue throughout this class, it was absolutely sensational and not easy to do. Your style of teaching lends itself so beautifully to a really mindful practice through breath connection. Beginners and more seasoned practitioners will so enjoy this. These are Physio-Led classes with a combination of standing work alongside some more traditional Matwork Pilates and mobility, always finishing with a little relaxation. They will challenge you but they are also fun and rewarding!

Pilates is the ideal way to build your strength, stability and core with a focus on pelvic control through movements. The combination of strengthening and flexibility exercises are adaptable and the classes are small to enable me to guide you in working at a level to suit you.
