✨ Back to school ✨

As the summer holidays end, there’s often a mix of emotions. Relief at having some structure again, sadness at the slower days slipping away, and (if we’re honest!) overwhelm at the thought of all the organising that comes with back-to-school season.

Packed lunches. Uniforms. Drop-offs. Clubs. Homework.
It can feel like a lot.

But here’s the reframe I’ve been sitting with…

Going back to routine doesn’t have to mean the end of fun.

🌿 Think of routines as anchors, not restrictions – they give us the stability to enjoy the in-between moments.
🌿 Keep a little bit of “summer magic” alive – a midweek ice cream stop, a family movie night, or walking home the long way.
🌿 Remember, your energy sets the tone – if you approach the juggle with curiosity rather than pressure, your children will feel it too.

💡 Tip for mums: Build small pauses for YOU into the week. A quiet coffee after drop-off. A walk. Even 10 minutes with a book. Refilling your cup isn’t selfish, it’s essential.

So yes, it’s back to packed bags and alarm clocks. But it’s also back to connection, growth, and new beginnings.

This holiday reminded me what really matters…

Love.
Laughter.
Being present with my family 🧡

Not the perfect itinerary.
Not the pressure to always be doing something.
Not getting it all right.

Just being, with people I love.

There were sticky fingers and overtired moments.
There were cuddles in the morning and star gazing.
There were fun times, happy smiles, and those small, quiet moments that land somewhere deep in your heart.

And in the middle of it all… I worked on myself. Made sure I thought about what was really important to Hannah when we get back home.

Not rushing.
Not over planning.
Just being together.

And yes, I needed rest.
End of term tired hits different!

But more than anything, I needed this time with them - uninterrupted, unfiltered, and full of love.

There are days I feel like I’m not enough, lots actually.
Days when rejection stings deeper than I expect.
When I question my worth, even though I teach others to remember theirs.

Even as a coach, I have moments where I wonder:

“Why not me?”

“Did I say too much?”

“Am I just too much?”

Rejection hurts. Whether it’s a no from someone you care about, silence after opening your heart, or feeling unseen in a room full of people.

It taps into that fear that maybe, just maybe, I’m not lovable as I am.

But here’s the truth I return to again and again (and I hope you do too):

Your worth is not up for negotiation.
Rejection is not evidence of your inadequacy, it’s redirection.
You are not “too much.” You are just enough for the people meant to truly see you.

So if you’re feeling like you’re not enough today, let me remind you l, I’ve been there too. You’re not alone.
And you are so deeply, undeniably worthy.

I regularly say I’m tired, when actually I’m just doing too much and I need to prioritise.

Burnout doesn’t heal by pushing through. It heals when you pause and ask:

✨ “What do I actually need right now?”

🌿 Start here:

1️⃣ Name it: I’m burned out.

2️⃣ Do one small nourishing thing- a walk, a hug, a call.

3️⃣ Set one boundary today.

4️⃣ Call in support—you don’t have to do this alone.

🌈Comparisons🌈

I do it, you do it, we all do it… at some point we have all compared ourselves and our lives to someone else. We have wished we had what they had, and we have wanted aspects of our lives or selves to be different.

Most of the time though, we don’t know what someone else has been through to get to where they are today:

🌈 I wish my mum lived so near by like hers… (she lost her dad at a young age)

🌈 I wish I had a figure like hers… (she had an eating disorder when she was younger)

🌈 I wish I was as organised as him… (he’s up till midnight managing his to do list)

🌈 I wish I was as fit as him… (he spends 3 gruelling hours at the gym, never allowed to miss a day)

Instead of focusing on being like someone else, or wishing things were different, spend time in a place of gratitude for what you have and what you have achieved.

You have worked hard to get where you are today, and even if someone has had an easier life than you, that’s their journey, not yours.

There isn’t anyone else out there like you, and that’s kind of a big deal.
