Wild Café

Wild Café A behind the scenes look- living and working at Wild 🌿

06/05/2026

On Monday, we officially closed our doors for a while…

It was HIGHLY emotional, but it actually doesn’t need to be really- as we won’t be gone forever! This is just a little interlude in our Wild story ❤️

Also videos will be constantly ongoing for all of the changes happening here. Like I said before, you will be sick of the sight us!

Still we will miss you all very much, this Summer is definitely going to be quieter than normal 👀 (she says that with a 7 month old 😂)

For those who simply cannot live without our food- Keep an eye on all of our new pre ordered food and package options for our wellbeing guests, we will have you covered again soon enough 🙌

I know we say thank you a lot but we can’t help it- we are just always so grateful to our amazing customers for being the best cheerleaders 🥰

But thank you so much, honestly.

Wild is officially closed… for now 😉
See you again soon!

Love from all of the Wild team including the newest member Daisy 🌼

When the social media girl throws the staff a Polaroid camera… cue pure chaos, blurry memories, and a camera roll full of moments we probably shouldn’t expose 😂

This last week has been a lot - long days, loud laughs, slightly unhinged staff behaviour (as seen) but honestly so special.

We’re pretty tired, a little in our feelings, but mostly just really grateful for everyone who came down and was part of it.

It’s weird hitting pause for a while, we choked up a lot closing the door this evening…. It just feels so quiet already. But we’ll take the memories (and the Polaroids) of our incredible staff and these awesome days with us.

It won’t be long until we are back serving you coffee. Oh and don’t worry we’ll be filming all the chaos and behind the scenes work… honestly you are probably going to be sick of us!

See you soon 🌿

Oh, what a day ✨

May has arrived.

After months that have felt a little unsteady, with change unfolding faster than we expected and more still on the horizon…

And yet - there are moments like these
small, golden, easy to miss.

The ones that ground us.
The ones that make it all make sense.

May you notice them
May you hold onto them
May your May be something beautiful 🌸

The final few days of Wild cafe (for now) 🌿

As we shared on our previous video (thank you for such warm feedback by the way ❤️) Wild prepare to close the café for renovations from this Bank Holiday Monday, we wanted to share everything you need to know before we begin this next chapter.

Remember this isn’t goodbye - it’s a rebuild, a reset, and an exciting step forward for Wild as a whole ✨

If you have any questions that aren’t shared here, please drop us a message. We will be happy to help.

Any bookings in the cafe that aren’t afternoon teas and unwind and dines (as these will continue as normal) will unfortunately have to be cancelled- our team will be in touch with everyone. We apologise for this inconvenience.

Thank you for all your support so far… we can’t wait to welcome you back when the time comes 🌿

BIG changes are happening at Wild… 🌿✨

From next week, our café will be temporarily closing to the public while we carry out some exciting renovation work across the space.

If you’ve noticed lots of little changes recently, you’re absolutely right. Wild is evolving into its next chapter - with a deeper focus on wellbeing and getting back to our roots.

To make that happen, we need to make some structural changes across the grounds over the coming months… some small, some pretty major.

The café refurbishment is something major that’s been on our list for a long time, and now feels like the right moment. With the kitchen now closed, things are a little less hectic, and with large-scale building work happening on both sides of us (including exciting new eco homes nearby 🌱 and some not-so-glamorous landslide repairs 😅), it made sense to pause and do this properly.
So… we’re joining in and embracing the change too.

✨✨Our last café trading day (for now) will be the May Bank Holiday next week✨✨

We know this will bring questions, so here’s what you need to know:

🌿 The café will be closed to the public, but it’s not closing completely.

🌿 We’ll still be serving food for spa guests, therapy packages (like our unwind & dine), and all pre-booked experiences including afternoon teas- so if you’re already booked in for pre- ordered food everything will go ahead as planned.

🌿 We’ll also be introducing MORE pre-booked food options in the near future… watch this space 👀

🌿 The renovation work won’t affect the Spas or therapy rooms and we will always keep it to outside opening hours.

Alongside this, we’ll be transforming our current reception and shop into a brand new Garden Room- a calm, cosy space for guests to relax post-treatment, enjoy a slice of cake, and just switch off.

Our reception will be relocating, and the interiors will be refreshed to lift and enhance the whole experience. Plus, our veranda will be getting a little glow-up too - including a repaired roof and more seating ready for summer ☀️

Our café has truly been the heart of Wild over the past 4 years, and we want to reassure you that it’s not going anywhere forever. This is all part of a bigger evolution, and we genuinely can’t wait to share what’s coming next.

We’d love you to be part of the journey with us 🌿We’ll keep you updated along the way, and we’ll be in touch with all upcoming guests ahead of their visits.

Any questions feel free to ask. You can message, call or email.

As always, thank you so much for your continued support of Wild 🥰

Start the day early with us 🌿

Before the gates open and the day begins, there’s a quiet kind of magic here…

The milk gets delivered.
The gardens wake up.
Grandad’s already in his waders, tending to the pond.
The grandparents are busy behind the scenes, getting everything ready for you.

Fresh spring flowers are out, baskets are blooming, and the whole place feels brand new ✨ (huge shoutout to Seth for bringing the wild garden back to life 🙌)

Daisy is, of course, the star of the morning - soaking it all in, getting her early play in the Wildlings area, and making sure everyone stops for a little coo 🐾

The dogs run free.
The air feels fresh.
And for a moment, it’s just us, the grounds, and a brand new day beginning.

Honestly… it might be our favourite time of all 🥰

I feel like all we have done the past couple of months is say thank you- BUT THANK YOU!! 🙏 honestly, we’re so grateful ❤...

I feel like all we have done the past couple of months is say thank you- BUT THANK YOU!! 🙏 honestly, we’re so grateful ❤️

Wild is currently still open for Coffee, cakes, savoury bakes and delicious drinks, 10-4pm, Thurs-Mon…

Pop on by for some chilled vibes in the sunshine ☀️

For those with bad eyesight and can’t read the teeny tiny writing, here is what the post says:

The response to the last video honestly meant more than we can explain.
We were so nervous to share it.
Not just the recent changes…but the truth behind it.
Because it’s easy to think people might judge, or not understand, or see it as a failure.
But you’ve just shown us once again how amazing our customers really are!

And it made something that felt quite heavy…
feel a lot lighter.

I think sometimes we all hold back from being honest, when actually that’s the thing that connects us the most.

So just a little note to thank you and to say…

This isn’t the end of anything. If anything, it’s the start of a more thoughtful, more aligned version of us. We’re working quietly behind the scenes every day - making sure everything we do still feels like Wild.

And we’re really excited for what’s to come.

Thank you for being here, truly 🌿❤️

The real reason we closed the kitchen…

For those who are curious… here is a little heartfelt story from us

We didn’t close our kitchen because we didn’t love it. We loved it so much.
The food, the staff, the customers… it was such a special space and we were so lucky with everyone who was part of it.

But here’s the truth no one really talks about when running a business… You slowly give more and more of yourself without even realising. Until one day, the business IS your life.

Every time I tried to step away to just to focus on what I’m actually best at (designing, creating, building the bigger vision) - I got pulled straight back in.

Because when you leave, you realise how much you were quietly holding together. Not because I’m irreplaceable! But because I just gave too much of myself. Like many people running a business, you can work double the hours of the other staff members for half the pay!

Don’t get me wrong we have got the most amazing staff, and honestly, our family are the hardest work people ever! I just didn’t want to see the truth I guess. We all just really wanted this place to succeed ❤️

So then when I became pregnant, I didn’t have a choice anymore. I physically couldn’t keep going at that pace. Running a kitchen - even a small café - is intense. Long days, on your feet for 12-14 hours, high stress, barely stopping to eat or drink.

And when I finally slowed down… I realised how far out of balance I was.

High anxiety.
Always on edge.
Unable to switch off.

That’s not how we’re meant to live.

Not just that, very quickly, we saw the truth clearly - without me there, the kitchen wasn’t actually even breaking even… it was LOSING money every week.

The spa, the shop, the café - they all worked beautifully together. But one part struggling… it was pulling everything else down with it- and it was the part that took up all of our energy!

So we had to make a choice.

Keep something we loved… or protect the future of the whole business and our wellbeing.

So we let that dream go. But It wasn’t easy.

I think that it being a veggie/ vegan cafe too made it even more sad as these places are much harder to come by.

But we know it’s not just us, restaurants, cafes and businesses around us have all been shifting, reducing or closing completely.

There’s so much happening behind the scenes- EVERYWHERE!

And since we shut the kitchen… everything feels different. Calmer and much more aligned. The business flows. The team is happier and life feels much more manageable again.

However… we aren’t out of the woods yet, chances are more changes are on the horizon still. But we have to be flexible in order for the business as a whole to adapt and survive (and not let it bring us down)

But the most important thing we can do right now is slow down and be present with family.

Because in 10 years… people might not remember our little the café.

But my daughter and my family will remember me being here.

And that matters more than anything ❤️🌿

We just want to take this moment to thank every single person who has supported us over the past 4 years, thank you from the bottom of our hearts 🥰

This is your sign to romanticise the next stroll with your little Wildlings 🌿

Introducing… the frivolous nature walk vase (because why not make life a bit more whimsical this spring?) 🌷✨

All you need:
- A scrap bit of cardboard
- Scissors + a pen
- Mild creative chaos

Cut some old cardboard into a square-ish situation, sketch a vase (loosely… very loosely) and poke some tiny holes for your flowers to live in.

Then off you go… 🌿
On a slow, sunny wander- Picking the prettiest petals, wild bits, and leafy treasures that catch your eye (make sure to be respectful of the area and be aware of what you’re picking!)

No pressure, no perfection - just pure springtime joy 🌼

Pop your foraged finds into your handmade vase and suddenly… you’ve got the cutest, quirkiest little piece of art to take home, or give as a little Easter gift 🏡💛

It’s a bit silly, very sweet, and exactly the kind of thing spring is for 🌸

As mentioned, there are still plenty of these for your Wildling to grab if they visit us over this Easter Weekend 🐣Perfect for a nice stroll home through the forests and canals that surround Wild. (Rest assured that anyone who picks the flowers from our Wild grounds will have my Grandma to answer too 👀😂)

✨ Save this for your next sunny walk & show us your whimsical creations 🌷

Seen as Easter is just around the corner, we felt a TBT was in order for these FAB recipes from last year… when I was at the good stage of being pregnant 😉

🌿🐰HAPPY EASTER 🌼🌿

We are back today with some really fun carrot themed treats that are perfect for some Easter Fun 🙌

Due to how many items were making I’ve kept this brief so that we can fit as much info as possible below, so let’s get cooking!

🥕Carrot loaf cake
200 g soft brown sugar
50ml maple
180ml olive oil
180 ml soya milk
2 tsp vanilla exract
zest and juice of 1 orange and lemon
230 g gluten free plain flour
100 g gluten free oat flour
2 tsp ground cinnamon
1 ½ tsp ground ginger
1 tsp ground nutmeg
1 tsp bicarbonate of soda
1/2 tsp salt
approx 4 large carrots or 6/7 small ones, grated

Sift together the dry ingredients and combine with all of the wet, then fold in the grated carrot.
Pour into a loaf tin, spread it level and bake for about 50-60 minutes until a skewer inserted into the centre comes out clean.

For the amazing cream cheese frosting:
1 tub vegan cream cheese (we used Violife)
4 tbsp maple
Juice and zest of half lemon
Pinch salt

🥕Carrot and cream cheese cones

For the garlic cream cheese
1 tub vegan cream cheese (again we used Violife)
4 tbsp nooch
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp salt
1 tbsp thyme
1 tsp sage
juice 1 lemon

The rest
* 1 ready made puff pastry sheet (we used a gluten free one!)
* Baking cones and olive oil (to prevent any pastry sticking)
* 4 small/ medium sized carrots, boiled for 10 minutes then roasted in maple and salt until golden.
* Tamari (gluten free soya sauce) and soya milk mix to glaze
* Parsley to stick out of top

Tip: Be sure to seal the tip of your cone to stop any leakage and also make sure the top pastry doesn’t extend past the baking cones otherwise it will seal up!

🥕Carrot mimosas
Add 50ml of orange juice to tall glass
Add 50ml of carrot juice
Add juice of 1 lemon juice
Top with Prosecco or nosecco
To garnish add a big sprig of parsley to garnish

Let me know how you get on and any questions or more details (as these are quite brief) feel free to ask!

When life changed, we knew our space had to as well 🙌

What started as a one-bedroom studio (once garages!) quickly became too small for everything life had in store… so we took on something HUGE.

A full renovation project. Every single room in this beautiful family home needs work 🙃

Was it slightly insane to take this on whilst pregnant with our first baby AND running our own business?
Yes… absolutely 😂 So we didn’t.

Instead, we pressed pause for a whole year.

We created a cosy little setup to get us through- our own makeshift living room, bedroom and kitchen- until our girl was older and I felt ready to start again.

And now… the time has come.
It’s exciting, overwhelming, and honestly a little bit daunting (have you seen it?)

But we’re starting with the two rooms we NEED most: A kitchen (because life without one, especially with a weaning baby, has been painful 😅) and Daisy’s room, so she can finally have her own little space ❤️

It’s going to be a lot… especially alongside running our business… but we’re so ready for it.
Come along for the ride ✨
