Important information from the Surgery

Dear Patients,

We are writing to share some important information regarding upcoming national industrial action. Resident GP Trainee strikes have been confirmed to take place from:

7:00 AM on Tuesday 7th April 2026 - 7:00 AM on Monday 13th April 2026

At Marston Forest Healthcare, our priority is always your health and well-being. While these strikes are part of a national dispute beyond our local control, we understand that news of reduced services can be worrying. Please rest assured that we are doing everything possible to maintain a safe environment for those who need us most.

How This Affects Your Care

During this period, we will have fewer doctors on-site than usual. To ensure we can continue to provide safe care, we must prioritize urgent medical needs.

Existing Appointments: If you have an appointment scheduled during the strike, we will contact you directly if it needs to be moved. If you do not hear from us, please attend as planned.

Non-Urgent Queries: If your concern is routine or non-urgent, you may experience a longer wait than usual. We kindly ask for your patience and, if possible, to consider contacting us after the strike period ends on Monday, 13th April.

Emergency Care: Our team remains committed to your safety. If you have a medical emergency, please do not delay seeking help.

Alternative Support Options

To help us manage our capacity during this week, please consider using these alternative services for minor or non-life-threatening issues:

NHS 111 Online: A fantastic first port of call for advice and direction to the right service.

Community Pharmacies: Your local pharmacist can provide expert advice and treatments for many common ailments (such as earaches, sore throats, or skin minor infections).

A&E and 999: These services remain open for genuine, life-threatening emergencies only.

We sincerely value your support and understanding during this time. We know that delays can be frustrating, and we thank you for showing kindness to our team as they work hard to care for our community under these challenging circumstances.

Kind Regards,
The Partners and Staff
Marston Forest Healthcare
