Beautiful Bower Hinton Bears - crafted in tactile textiles, Somerset artist Sara Finch creates gorgeous bears to love for a lifetime. Sara is also offering a drop in repair service for bears who have been loved a little too much at the ongoing Coldharbour Mill Heritage Craft Festival, and my childhood bears are currently receiving a little TLC :)

Marigold has has some lovely spa treatment. A wash, new stuffing, new growl, a face-lift, a mighty amount of patching, new paws, new eyes. She came with a beautiful but very fragile dress which is now being protected by an tana lawn overskirt and a little jacket.
All ready for her retirement home.

The bear shed has had a glow up! It was looking a tad shabby as the front gets all the weather. Roy and Debbie (Don't Do it Yourself!) piled in with the paint and have made it gorgeous! I must admit to being quite surprised by the orangeness of the orange but I love it...very cheerful and tomato soupy.

Nearly complete...Edward II.
I took the pattern from a very worn and much loved bear which belonged to June's mum. The original was about 100 years old.
Not much of the original fabric survived but what has survived is washed and inside Edward II in memory of June's mum.
Edward II stands approximately 45cm tall and is made from lovely wavy porridge coloured mohair.
Quite a handsome chap don't you think?

Probably the craziest and definitely the biggest bear repair I have done so far. Poor Big Bear had mouldy foot pads (replaced) and a ripped nose(repaired).
He was too big to work on in my workshop so we moved up to the main house. You can see how big he is as Gingey is on the windowsill.
