We passed our ISO 9001:2015 audit today :) but I am posting about what I heard as an example of why I am in favour of BREXIT. A new EU Directive states that from from Ist January 2020 any new piece of medical equipment, that is any piece of equipment from MRI scanners to sutures and plasters, to be added to the NHS inventory must comply with the medical equipment ISO. All but two certification agencies are so disgusted they are not offering certificates. One of these two is charging GP10,000 (not a mistype) per day for their consultants to help manufacturers prepare for audit and then GBP20,000 for the certificate. Most manufacturers are saying no and selling to the US and other non-EU countries where this is not required. Who will pay on the UK? the NHS through increased equipment costs, ultimately you and me for an inevitably reduced service. Either way the NHS and its patients are suffering. From 01.01.2021 our government can say no to the Directive and rightly so. Why does a new style of bandage or other dressing need this expensive certification. So roll on Friday when we can start working on making our own decisions as to what is best for the people of the UK

It is surprising how many providers are cutting back the reality is that the WTO - GPA agreed iin March 2019 that from 1st November the UK would become a full member the GPA. Further the Instrument amending the 2015 PCRs states that no company from a GPA country shall be treated any differently from a UK company. Working on new offerings from Tendering for Care today. A current concern seems to be that finally purchasers are implementing policy note 8/16 (yes 2016!) this is all about the Selection Questionnaire (SQ). OK, there is a slight trend to require providers to pass the SQ before completing a method statement :) but some of the requirements and scoring take us back to the bad old days of 2006 (10 pts for ISO 9001 for example). The real biggie is that providers must send out requests for references themselves and get the response to the purchaser before the deadline!!! this accompanied by complex scoring. So the time to work with potential referees is well before the contract ends. Lots more to come

So Facebook has decided that our company can have its own webpage :) only thing is I now have to decided what to write, about technical tendering stuff? or more personal things? I think the former so suggestions and comments/experiences would be appreciated. I will get around to making the top section "pretty when I am less busy
