Today was the best way for a potter to spend a Sunday. A day filled with exploring throwing ( not thrown in nearly 30years) listening to inspirational speakers and demonstraters.
Special thanks goes to the very patient and kind I need to book throwing lessons.
for guiding my through my attempt at a tall pot, I was so proud I managed to create something that tall. Now might be the time to dust off the wheel.
so interesting listening to you talk about your potter journey and the Throw Down.jim always so lovely to see you, I could have watched you creating all day, thank you so much x

Thought I’d share…..
I was asked to write about my ladies, as part of a magazine take over. I’m a member of the NPA, Northern Potters Association, the South East is my region.
Liz Hewett is super inspiring and convinced a group of female potters to write about their female forms.
Mine is a real personal journey, after a lovely message from a fellow artist I thought I’d share my contribution.

What a difference a day makes. Today the sun came out, and boy you guys followed. Brilliant to see so many lovey familiar faces, totally amazing to connect with some fabulous people, people who get my work, amazingly want to buy. I’m a very tired but happy potter.
Thank you to the Art at the house team, your hard work has definitely paid off. Loved being in the woods with my Northern Potters family.

Getting ready for this weekends event, the first of 3 in September. Art in the Gardens is a truly fabulous event, held in Sheffield’s Botanical Gardens.
I’ll be in the Northern Potters Association marquee and there Saturday and Sunday.
Raku firing tomorrow in readiness.

Calling makers local and far, this event is shaping up to be a grand day out at a beautiful location. We have gorgeous ceramics, live relaxing music, food and family activities. will be there with glazes and tools for sale and telling us about the clay process.
will be offering wheel tasters, .potts will be offering mindful clay burnishing workshops. And much more

This is what a crazy potter does on a Monday…… revealing a fabulous beam and mullions in our bedroom, these have been beautifully boxed in but hidden.
The ongoing delights of our nearly 200 year old listed cottage.
Found some pretty wall paper and lots of hideous brown paint🙈🤷🏼‍♀️
Chill time now, before we camp out in our caravan tonight 👍🏼
