During the past twelve months, I have devoted over 400 hours towards studying developments in research-and have further developed a professional relationship with a number of leading practitioners in the North West. These practitioners range from Osteopaths, Physiotherapists, Chiropractors to leading consultants.

Injuries to the cartilage and meniscus (knee), usually occur due to compressive loads or twisting movements.
Age-related changes to the tissue can also contribute towards symptoms of pain during weight bearing, or squatting and twisting.
Small lesions to the cartilage can sometimes be treated non-surgically. Tears to the meniscus (Red Zone-which has a good supply of blood) have the potential to heal naturally. Bucket handle tears (preventing full extension of the knee) require surgical intervention.
Depending on several factors, return to action following a cartilage or meniscus injury can range from a few weeks to 8 months.

Self-improvement again a focus for 2026. Healthy habits, achieving goals, work/life balance a priority.

One of the many highlights to 2025 was the detailed study of the knee, from injury to assessment and surgery, to research and rehab.
It was a privilege also, observing an ACL surgical repair in theatre-performed by one of the country’s leading Orthopedic Consultants.

Always learning. Learn, eat, sleep, repeat.
