A little bit about us to put a face to who you or your child would be working with if you get in touch.

Mel is a qualified SEND teacher with a degree specialism and was lead of a provision for vulnerable young people. She has worked in both primary and secondary age groups. She was also a driver for SEND and Mental Health whole school improvement before training for a further 3 years to become a fully qualified counsellor and fulfilling her passion to be able to impact 1:1 wellbeing journeys. Mel has lead on projects to support mental health and always worked closely with both young people and parents to overcome wellbeing barriers and understand themselves on a deeper level, especially with neurodiversity. Mel’s counselling style is really personalised, and also down to earth and fun; with a determination to keep growing and learning about self together!

Sue has worked in mental health for many years, from working in adult mental health services to a pastoral and behaviour lead. Her experience and passion speaks volumes in the therapy room. She has worked with fostering and adoption adult support and also been a family liaison officer for vulnerable adults, while also qualifying as an adult counsellor with an added specialism of CBT at f-degree level. Sue’s style is inspiring, challenging while at the same time being really personable and authentic- helping you to reach your goals and next steps!

Why not get in touch if you think we’d be the counsellor for you, your child or your relationship.

Thank you to Rainford High for having us deliver a workshop today. It was lovely to meet such caring parents wanting to fill their cup up with more knowledge and strategies to use at home. Thank you for being so great!

There may be various people in your life that you can talk to, be a good friend to you, share their opinion and give their advice. The difference with counselling is it is completely all about you, every question, every skill, every tool and strategy is personalised to your own unique journey, with no bias, no judgement, but true unconditional positive regard for you as a unique person.

Our qualifications and experience goes above and beyond the minimum required to be a counsellor, and eventhough we pride ourselves firstly on our genuine helping relationships with clients, we also feel it is extremely important for anyone seeking therapy to look into whether their counsellor is fully trained.

All of our certificates, membership numbers, insurance and safeguarding checks, along with all of our official policies and procedures can be seen by any of our clients.

We are real, genuine counsellors, who want to make a difference. 🌳

Our re-set one off sessions are perfect if you are unsure whether therapy is for you and want to make that first step towards discovering more about yourself, or maybe finances won’t allow multiple sessions right now but you are wanting or needing to have some reflection and forward thinking motion. 🌳

Certain aspects of parenting can feel challenging, overwhelming, and stressful. Or even sometimes it’s just empowering to develop your knowledge and be curious about aspects that impact your household as a parent.

Our one hour workshops are on a topic of your choosing and ran by either Sue or Mel, depending on your topic chosen. Our experience ranges from working in social care, foster care, teaching, Special Needs, parenting support and obviously counsellors.

We are also parents ourselves, who understand the challenges being a parent can thrown our way, and we definitely never get it right all of the time, so our workshops are never coming from a place of judgement, or a ‘know it all’ stance, but from a standpoint of research, facts, and years of experience.

Reach out to book one in, or share with a friend who could benefit.

Sometimes your child or teen just needs to work things through with someone that isn’t their family, or teacher, or friend.

Sometimes knowing their words, thoughts and feelings are confidential, and that they are working with a professional counsellor opens doors that they subconsciously kept closed.

Counselling for our children and teens is finally becoming something we don’t just look to when everything is at breaking point, but frustratingly free service waitlists are becoming bigger than ever.

If you’re noticing signs of wellbeing decline in your child, small or big, and think they could benefit from working with us, we’re right here. 🫶🏻

You matter, you know that don’t you?

Why not reach out? Or share with someone you love.

We’re right here. A professional support, out of your circle, who you can work through it all with, confidentially, so that you can see and feel everything that bit clearer.

Walk out of our room for the final time, at least truly knowing yourself. You deserve that.

Healing is possible for all ages, even if it feels sometimes that it is not. Seeking support to start the journey and someone to sit in that passenger seat with you is the first step. 🌳
