Why So Many Women Feel Guilty, Anxious & Burnt Out (And Why You're Not alone for Feeling This Way)
So many women I speak to say the same thing:
"I feel exhausted, overwhelmed, and guilty… but I don't know why," Or maybe you feel a sense of guilt that is misplaced and doesn't all belong to you. Therapy can help you make sense of these feelings of guilt , your people pleasing tendencies and the concept of healthy boundaries.
As a mum of 2 children , married and self employed I understand Fullwell these feelings and how they manifest in your behaviours , your self talk and secretive feelings that we often hold deep inside. It was through my own therapy journey I raised my self awareness, gained firmer boundaries and leaned into self compassion. I learnt I simple can't do it all , I can't do everything perfect , I am not perfect , I am a human being surviving in a society that has unrealistic expectations of me.
Common reasons women experience guilt, anxiety & burnout:
• Constantly putting everyone else's needs first
• Carrying the emotional load at home and work
• Pressure to "do it all" and still appear calm and collected
• Unrealistic expectations placed on women by society( be an amazing Mum / carer and have a successful career )
• Suppressing emotions to keep the peace
• Lack of space to talk openly without judgement
Over time, this emotional weight builds up. When feelings aren't expressed, they don't disappear ,they show up as anxiety, exhaustion, irritability, low mood, or a sense of disconnection from yourself.
How therapy can help
Talking about your feelings in therapy isn't about being negative or dwelling , it's about release, understanding, and healing.
In therapy, you can:
✔ Safely express emotions you've been holding in
✔ Understand why you feel the way you do
✔ Learn healthier boundaries without guilt
✔ Reduce anxiety and emotional overwhelm
✔ Feel validated, heard, and supported
When emotions are spoken out loud, they lose their power. You don't have to carry everything alone.
