As it is ADHD awareness month, I am sharing this stream of consciousness writing. I had no idea of what I would write, and this was a first attempt of automatic writing. I had an image of this little boy and a sense of everything he felt as a boy with an ADHD brain. It is not uncommon for those with ADHD to have sensitivities or to suffer from low self-esteem. Some individuals are hypersensitive to the subtleties of the communication they receive from their environment, including reactions and perceived judgements that they feel from non-neurodiverse people. Sometimes they may be aware of their differences and compare themselves. They may be experiencing a lot of shame. However, there are many advantages to living with ADHD. Many ADHD children and adults are empathic, creative, and brilliantly focused in their area of passion that interests them.
