My first ever knife taken from steel billet, right to the kitchen.

Plenty of mistakes and lessons learned, but I seen it through to the end and I'm looking forward to making more!

Making a mini forge was fun and learning how to heat treat steel! Acid etching and stonewashing was an experience! 😂 Let's see how the next one goes!

Did our best to clean these slabs up and get them stacked properly for drying out. These are the main 4 big ones... Back...

Did our best to clean these slabs up and get them stacked properly for drying out. These are the main 4 big ones... Back doctor on speed dial!

10 more reasonable sized slabs to add to the stack and then strap them in for the long dry.

If anyone would like to share and tips and tricks in this process as we have done our research but not had any experience like some of you pros out there! Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
