Thank you from us ☺️

With just over a week to go till the end of my running challenge, I just wanted to say a massive thank you to everyone who has donated so far and your lovely messages of support ☺️

What I’ve been doing: running 3 miles a day, every day in October 🏃🏻‍♀️

Why: partly to raise money for the wonderful charity that is baby charity. But I think most importantly, for me.
After 3 miscarriages and a healthy pregnancy in between it’s been a long time since I’ve felt my body belonged to me. From a mental and physical perspective.

How it’s going: great 😃
Having that focus to just get up and get out and do my 3 mile run has been doing me the world of good 😊 definitely feeling a little bit more like the old me 😎

So far, 72 miles run and 21 to go! 🤩

And breathe…

We finally finished moving yesterday, handed the keys back to our old house, said goodbye to our lovely community if neighbours and headed to our new home in Wells… and went to the pub 🤣 🥂

The last months has been non stop with moving and various other life bits and bobs, and although our new house is a mess… we can stop and breathe for a few days 🥰

Acceptance of where you are ☺️

When we got told a few weeks ago that we had 2 months to move out of our house, we were and still are pretty gutted. With a 1 year old, a cat and a housing crisis the situation felt awful 🥴

That reminded me of the story of the Chinese farmer (see second picture) The moral of the story being how do we know if a situation is truly good or bad, lucky or unlucky, fortunate or unfortunate at the time they occur? 🤔

In many cases only time will tell the whole story 📖

Thinking of this concept is helping to ease the stress of having to find a new home and bring me more to a place of acceptance 🙌

After all, we can’t be certain that where we end up living (yet to be confirmed) won’t be better than where we are now, it could be the best thing that has ever happened to us 😃

Even if we could be certain, there is nothing we can do to change the situation. It is out of our control… as I mentioned in my last post; I’m really trying to be aware of how I approach and respond to situations and look after myself while life is a little uncertain and stressful. Often easier said than done though!!

Relax.. nothing is under control

I was never sure whether I found this quote comforting or a bit unnerving!? 🤔

A lot of people take comfort in the idea that events, especially ‘bad’ ones, happen for a reason. It’s a statement that I have used many times myself. However recently, in my experience, great things can turn out to be great – or not – and crappy things can be plain ol’ crappy – or have a silver lining. The only certainty is that we can’t know beforehand how things will turn out. And the only control we have is over how we respond to whatever comes.

Recently things have just been plain ol crappy and out of our control.

In the last few weeks we’ve had a family bereavement (a young one at that), a pregnancy, a miscarriage (both mine), 2 months notice to vacate our house, my dad finally having surgery for prostate cancer (recovering well) and Paul’s Dad giving us a scare with a possible very minor stroke; thankfully he is absolutely fine and back to normal eating ice cream 😃 - it was enough though after a couple of tough weeks 🥴 🙌

All of the above being completely out of our control.

This has really made me so aware of how I respond to situation, and that we have very little control over day to day life.

My yoga practice has really helped recently, practicing acceptance, my breathwork and movement- the only things I feel I have control over at the moment but have kept me present and level headed (mostly) .. especially when I have a 1 year old son to look after!

As I watch my son who has just found his feet, so blissfully unaware of the world around him, his determination to just keep trying is a much needed reminder that we just have to keep going. Keep trying and things will get easier.. step by step ☺️

This isn’t a sympathy post, we have a good life… just some crappy days 🤷🏻‍♀️

300hr Advanced Yoga Teacher 🥳🤸🏻‍♂️

Feels great to have achieved this. I started this course when Lennie was 4 months old and he has just turned 1!!

There have been moments when I wondered why I thought it was a good idea to take on an advanced yoga teacher training while on maternity leave 🤣 Some of it feel a bit hazy, but it was totally worth it!!

This course has allowed me to move my body and brain and have some ‘me time’ away from the little fella and I have been so grateful for that 🙌 I could not have done this without the support of Paul Waters and my Mum who have been taking it in turns to look after Lennie while I’ve been yogaing ☺️

Thank you so much for such a wonderful course held at the beautiful . I’ve loved every minute of it and will be back for more!! And thank you , it was perfect finishing on what was one of my favourite modules 🤸🏻‍♂️🤸🏻‍♂️🤸🏻‍♂️🤸🏻‍♂️

And a big shout out to all the wonderful yogis that have been on this journey with me, you know who you are and you’re all amazing 💜

Home for the next 2 nights 💜

These are my first nights away from Lennie since he was born and he is 1 year old in 3 weeks time 🙈

I love my little sidekick; he joyful smile and cheeky grin, his infectious laugh and constant curiosity for life. He is a ball of wonder and I love him dearly 💜

People say ‘oh I bet you’ll miss him’. But I don’t think it’s as simple as that. I love my time with him, I do cherish it. And I’ll really look forward to seeing him on Tuesday…

But… for now, I need a couple of night to remember what it’s like to be me. And that’s ok, because you do forget. One thing that has made this possible is knowing that’s I’ve left Lennie at home with the most amazing, caring, funny and wonderful Dad he could ever wish for. Someone we are both so lucky to have 🥰

Oh and 2 nights sleep, that will be nice too 🤣🤣🤣

Morning vinyasa yoga 🤸🏻‍♂️🧘🏻‍♀️☺️

Early mornings are my favourite time, I’ve always been an early bird. I love the peace, the sound of the birds.. and mostly it’s just time to myself before a wild and wonderful tiny human wakes up!!

Last day of our assisting & adjustment course ☺️

Assisting and adjusting isn’t about corrections or that the student is ‘doing a pose wrong’. It’s a about finding a deeper connection with the pose, connecting the pose to ‘your body’, because we are all so different and helping drop a little bit deeper and find some more space to move in our practice 🙌

It’s been an awesome few days being guided by the ever wonderful and all the beautiful souls on the course 🤸🏻‍♂️

Today we got let loose to assist and adjust a class full of people and bodies we didn’t know and it was fabulous 💃🏿
It was a beautiful reminder of the power of touch and how wonderfully different we all are 🥰

Can’t wait for the next course 🤸🏻‍♂️

Really excited to be working with to bring you a Full Reset on May 21st ☺️

To mark the final day of we are coming together to provide a fun and energising day which we will leave you with all the tools to keep you grounded and in control in everyday life.

Gus is a fully trained Wim Hoff instructor (level 2) and oxygen advantage instructor, cold-water swimmer and ice bath aficionado!! 🤩

The day will be a combination of yoga for anxiety, active conscious breathing and ice baths to help you learn tools to reboot and reset your nervous system leaving you feeling fresh and a little bit superhuman 🦹‍♂️🦹🏼‍♀️

This is a full day of yoga, Wim Hoff Method and lots of yummy extras thrown in 🤗

We’ll meet at the gorgeous - a space created to promote a holistic approach to mental and physical well-being. We will also be sharing some delicious vegan and organic food and drink throughout the day 😋

I offer personal training and deep tissue massage from Synergi Training Gym in the centre of Bristol.
