Have you ever wondered what a day in the life of an Area Manager entails - let me try and explain....

It has been a long week for the Area Managers who look after the Operations element of Elliotshill. All of our Area Managers have progressed through the 'ranks' from Support Worker to Team Leader to Area Manager and all of our Area Managers have worked for the Company for over 5 years. They have untold knowledge of the role which they use to support and mentor the Support Workers on the ground doing their amazing role!

They support the Support Workers on the ground, they deal with queries from Stakeholders, the general public, from clients, about clients, from staff, about staff. They administer annual leave requests, rota's, health & safety, compliance on mandatory training. The team have other requests for help/guidance/support from other areas within Elliotshill such as from the team in Pembrokeshire Care, Ashdale Care Home - Pembroke, Catalyst Training and the Group HR & Finance Team!

They work long hours - sometimes having to cover shifts where sick absence has occurred, often with no notice - giving up their evenings to help where needed.
They attend regular meetings with professionals such as Social Workers, Medical Professionals, Support Agencies to name but a few!

They are the heartbeat of Head Office and we need to applaud them for their hard work and dedication to their roles.

What you don't see in this picture are our Residential Area Managers - they are usually based in the Care Home with the Support Workers, so we don't see them in the office a huge amount.

Shauna, MJ, Donna - that's you lovely ladies!!

Thank you to all Area Managers out there - you guys are truly amazing!
Dave, Sean, Neil R, Tobi (Clarissa is missing as has recently had a gorgeous baby boy - Roman)

Try Waffles from Different Cultures

Go on a waffle adventure! Take this day to explore the vast array of flavors that the world of the waffle has to offer and post your pictures 👇:

Tuck into American waffles topped with fried chicken or, alternatively, stacked and drenched in sugary maple syrup for breakfast. Don’t forget a slice or two of crispy bacon!

Enjoy a Brussels or Liège Belgian Waffle that is thicker and dusted with confectioner’s sugar or coated in chocolate or cream. The batter is made with egg whites to build volume, and the waffles are sometimes cooked with pearl sugar that adds to the richness and flavor.

A standard since the 1600s (and the place where the day came from) Swedish waffles are similar to other waffles but are made in special irons that create four heart shapes. These are served with a dollop of cream, fresh berries, or berry compote.

Happy St Patrick's Day - did you know that St Patrick is the patron saint of Ireland and is celebrated for bringing Christianity to the country. He is traditionally associated with the shamrock, a type of clover and is often pictured holding one.

The shamrock: Did you know?
The three-leaved plant, symbolic of Ireland and of St Patrick's Day has an important meaning for Christians.
It is said to represent the Holy Trinity of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
The three leaves of a shamrock are also said to stand for faith, hope and love.
A fourth leaf is said to be where we get the luck from - you may have heard of 'lucky clover'.

All of our staff, from Elliotshill to Pembrokeshire Care to Ashdale Care Home - Pembroke have to undertake mandatory training for them to be safe in their role.
Catalyst Training provides our staff with that training.

Scott and the team provide high standards training for our staff and external clients and believe me the reviews say it all

Donna - really informative training, it has helped me be safe when delivering care to my clients. Thank you

Richard C - another brilliant session. Thank you Scott.

Dai J - First time using Catalyst and I am truly thankful. I had no idea that there were things I was not getting right. Thanks team.
