What is EMDR therapy?

You may have heard of EMDR… but not be quite sure what it actually is.

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing) is a type of psychotherapy that helps your brain process and heal from difficult or overwhelming experiences.

Sometimes, when something distressing happens, the memory can get “stuck” — along with the emotions, beliefs, and body sensations that came with it.

That’s why you might: • Feel triggered without fully understanding why
• React strongly to certain situations
• Or feel like something from the past is still affecting you now

EMDR helps your brain reprocess these memories so they feel less intense, less overwhelming, and more like something that happened in the past, rather than something you’re still reliving.

It uses gentle, guided techniques (like eye movements or tapping) to support this natural healing process.

You don’t have to go into every detail of what happened, and you stay in control throughout.

EMDR can be helpful for:
• Trauma and PTSD
• Anxiety
• Phobias
• Low self-esteem
• And other experiences that feel “stuck”

If you’re curious about whether EMDR might be right for you, feel free to reach out or ask questions 💬.... details in my bio.

Feeling constantly “on”? Mentally drained before the day even begins? You’re not alone.

Anxiety and burnout have quietly become part of everyday life for so many working professionals. But just because it’s common doesn’t mean it’s something you have to push through or ignore.

Your mind and body are always communicating with you. The exhaustion, the overwhelm, the lack of focus… they’re not signs of failure — they’re signals that something needs attention.

I’ve written a new blog exploring: • how anxiety and burnout impact your nervous system
• why it affects your energy, focus, and wellbeing
• how to recognise the signs early
• practical ways to manage it more effectively

If this resonates, I’d really encourage you to give it a read in our latest news on our website 🤍

And if you’re feeling stuck in this cycle, get in touch and we can have a conversation about how I can help.

🧠 World Mental Health Day 2025 💚

Today is a reminder that mental health matters — every day, for everyone.

This year’s theme is “Mental Health is a Universal Human Right.”

That means access to support, compassion, and understanding should never be a privilege — it’s something we all deserve.

Whether you’re thriving, surviving, or somewhere in between, today is a gentle invitation to pause and check in with yourself:

✨ How am I really feeling?

✨ What do I need right now?

✨ Who can I reach out to for support?

At Reset Minds Therapies, we believe in working together to make mental health care more open, inclusive, and accessible. 💬💚

Have you got the winter blues? Most, if not all of us, may have noticed that it's been tough to do much as the seasons have changed from summer to winter. Well, it's very common this time of year, and despite experiencing this year in and year out, it's still a bit of a struggle. When you are thinking negatively, how much do you believe that your thoughts are true? How often do you question your thoughts, or think about an alternative perspective? Negative thinking can often cloud our judgement and this makes it difficult to notice any other ways of viewing situations. Remember, thoughts and beliefs aren't facts. Next time you have a negative thought, instead of just believing it, how about we ask ourselves, what tells me this thought is true? Let's see what happens?
