Yesterday the team did sterling work taming the canalside landscaping at Fenny Stratford. It's been a whole year since we helped the team from and plant up the beds and they have matured beautifully. We do maintenance work on them at any Thursday session preceding a Fenny cruise weekend, one of which starts today! You can see the boat at the 'quayside' in the first photo beside the beds and the freshly strimmed grass, viewed from bridge 96 over Watling Street.
One of the beds is a community herb bed and there have been problems with, we think, just one irresponsible dog owner who allows their large dog to foul the bed. Particularly annoying on a bed full of edibles and within 35 paces of a dog bin. Maybe they don't care, but maybe they don't know the plants are edible, so a helpful sign may go up to educate them soon. In the meantime, two bags of extra hot red chilli powder have been liberally sprinkled round the herbs in an attempt to help the dog self-regulate its own bottom! 😬💩🔥
Hiya, we are Bletchley and Fenny Stratford Green Gym, originally setup by the charity, TCV in 2021 but now running independently. Come join us!
