⭐ Hollywood royalty at Hollycroft Grange! ⭐

In honour of what would have been Hollywood legend Steve McQueen's 96th birthday, we were delighted to host the original 1961 Triumph TR6 Trophy motorcycle used in the iconic 1963 film ‘The Great Escape’ - the very machine ridden by Hollywood legend, Steve McQueen!

The special day saw the motorcycle take centre stage in front of our 3-bedroom Bloor McQueen showhome. 🏍️

The famous premises is opposite Hollycroft Grange, so it was fitting to celebrate the occasion and be joined by renowned Triumph collector, Dick Shepherd, who painstakingly restored the motorcycle to its original 1962 filming specification, retaining 95% of its original parts.

The 649cc motorcycle, featured in one of cinema's most thrilling sequences. After filming, the bike was lost for years before being rediscovered by Dick and his efforts to rebuild the bike are truly outstanding.

We welcome motorcycle enthusiasts and house hunters alike to come and visit our 3-bedroom Bloor McQueen showhome named after the actor – we think you’ll agree that it made a superb backdrop for the appearance of such an impressive machine!

⚽ Newport Pagnell Town Football Club's Under 9s team have taken to the pitch this season with brand new playing kit, thanks to a donation from Bloor Homes South Midlands regional team!

The club has youth teams starting at age 5 for both girls and boys, all the way up to the men’s and women’s First team sides and they train and play less than a 10-minute walk from our Bloor Homes at Newport Vale development – a brand new community providing circa 700 energy efficient new homes.

Everyone meet our latest ‘Design a Bedroom’ competition winner, Sara! 🎉

Sara’s ‘Pink Princess Room’ 👑🏰 design was crowned the champion in our recent competition we hosted with Lakeside Kite Academy (Junior School), inviting students to design a bedroom for one of our new showhomes at Bloor Homes at Mindenhurst, development of 2, 3 and 4-bed new homes in Deepcut, Camberley, which neighbours the school in Surrey.

The entries were judged by our interior design team at Artspace, and they felt Sara’s design really stood out. They loved 👇

💙 Sara’s extra attention to detail
💙 The thoughtful furniture selection and placement
💙 The cute sparkle canopy and rug!

As well as Sara seeing her creative vision brought to life inside our new Bloor Dawlish, a 4-bedroom showhome, she also won a Hobbycraft art set, gift voucher and a Bloor goodie bag. We also framed a copy of the design moodboard for her to take home and keep which we hope she will truly love! 🏡🎁

Congratulations Sara, you should be really proud of your design!

The start of a new era for Wellington, Somerset! 🎉 We've officially broken ground in Wellington, marking the start of construction on a crucial spine road that will provide access to Wellington's new £20m railway station! 🚆

The ceremony was attended by Gideon Amos MP (Taunton & Wellington), who cut the first turf to get work under way, alongside senior members of our Bloor Homes’ Exeter team.

This future-proofing project is huge news for the local Wellington community who are excited to see rail services return to the town after 60+ years. The original station closed as part of the infamous Beeching cuts in the 1960s.

Our works will see:

✅ The development of 178 new Bloor homes (2, 3 and 4-beds) on land west of Nynehead Road, which includes the new spine road.

✅Homes with easy access to the new station, its car park, transport interchange and a 'station square' public open space featuring the original apex of the Wellington Monument.

The new station is expected to be operational by late-2028.

"We're both from Leicester and were looking for a change of location due to work commitments, so we started to look around Desborough and surrounding areas.

"We wanted a new build as we have a toddler and thought this would be the perfect option. We chose Saxon Park because as soon as we stepped into the [Bloor Gregory] showhome we fell in love with the layout, and how everything looked and felt high quality. The area itself is also so well connected and is perfect for our family. Local parks, shops, transport. It has everything we’d been looking for.

"We're loving our new home and slowly settling in. Slowly but surely, we are putting our own stamp on the house!"

🏡⭐ Last week at Bloor... we saw Zoopla share their latest stats on house prices and mortgages, and hosted filming for The Mortgage Mum's second series of 'On The Ladder' at our Bentley Gardens development in Basildon, Essex.

Have you seen the latest?

Zoopla reports that around 40% of homes currently listed on their portal are cheaper to buy with a mortgage, than to rent locally (based on a 20% deposit).* 🙌

Everyone meet, Ellie and Dec! 👋 These cool cats are loving their new Bloor Sinclair at Atherstone Place, but like many... they never set out to buy a new build home. 🏡👀

"We never intended on buying a new build, my partner is in the building industry himself and has heard plenty of horror stories. However, we stumbled upon this particular Bloor site and thought let’s have a look, why not!

"The Sinclair was the only home that was available to view that day so it was like fate that it was perfect for us! It’s so much more spacious for a two-bed than we thought it would be and it lets in so much light. Neither me or my partner are minimalists and own so many things so this was a big deal breaker that our home had plenty of storage and space. The Sinclair fits our brief perfectly!

"The staff on-site were extremely helpful and answered every question we had (there were plenty!🤣) and this made us love the Bloor site even more. The journey from the first viewing to completion has been effortlessly seamless all thanks to the Bloor team!"
