Mental Health Awareness Week đź’š

At the end of January, 2.24 million people were in contact with NHS mental health services, with 1.52 million receiving support through adult mental health services.

These numbers remind us how important it is to talk about mental health openly and without judgement. You are never alone in what you are feeling.

Social Prescribing can support people with their wellbeing by helping them access community groups, practical support, activities, and services that matter to them 🌿

If you feel you may benefit from support, speak with your GP surgery and ask about Social Prescribing.

We’re looking for a skilled, confident and compassionate Social Prescriber to join MILTON KEYNES CITIZENS ADVICE BUREAU

This is a full-time role working directly within GP surgeries, supporting patients whose needs go beyond medical treatment. You’ll help people navigate issues like debt, benefits, housing, employment, cost of living and family pressures, and social isolation - the real-life challenges that sit behind many GP appointments.

You’ll be:

- Embedded in primary care settings
- Working alongside GPs, nurses and practice teams
- Supporting patients with practical, non-clinical solutions
- Helping reduce pressure on frontline health services
- Making a measurable difference to people’s lives

We want someone who:

- Is confident working independently in clinical environments
- Has strong case management skills
- Is calm, organised and emotionally intelligent
- Can build trust quickly with both patients and professionals

This isn’t a “signposting” role. It’s hands-on, practical, outcomes-focused support. You’ll be joining a respected, ambitious local charity with strong partnerships in the health and welfare sector , and a team that takes both impact and professionalism seriously.

If you’re motivated by making an impact and want to work where health and advice genuinely connect, we’d love to hear from you.
