Menopause: Time for a New Conversation
Menopause is a natural stage of life, yet for many women, it remains a topic wrapped in stigma and silence. Why is that?
As a certified menopause educator, I see firsthand how a lack of awareness and open conversation leaves women feeling unprepared for this transition. Menopause typically occurs between 45 and 55, bringing hormonal shifts that can affect everything from mood to energy levels. But beyond the symptoms, menopause also marks a major life shift—one that can be embraced with confidence rather than fear.
Different cultures view menopause in vastly different ways. Some celebrate it as a rite of passage, a transition into wisdom and strength. Others treat it as a quiet struggle, reinforcing outdated narratives about aging. But by talking openly, we can reshape the way menopause is perceived—at home, in the workplace, and in society.
Instead of seeing menopause as the end of something, what if we reframed it as a beginning? Many women use this time for self-discovery, new passions, and renewed focus on well-being. From mindfulness to movement, from nutrition to community support, small changes can make a big difference in how we navigate this chapter.
💬 Let’s open up the conversation: How has menopause (or perimenopause) impacted you or the women around you? What changes do you think workplaces and communities need to make to better support this transition?
Let’s talk. Let’s shift the narrative. 💜
