🎄🤍 A little Christmas note 🤍🎄

As the year winds down, I just wanted to say thank you to everyone I’ve met this year. It’s been a real privilege to sit with you, listen to your stories, and be part of your journey in whatever way that’s looked like.

I’m always struck by the courage it takes to show up and talk honestly — especially when life feels difficult or uncertain.

Christmas can be a mix of emotions, and however you’re feeling right now is okay. Please be kind to yourself over the next few weeks.

Wishing you a gentle and peaceful Christmas ✨

With warmth,
Celia

🍃 Mid-Week Mindset Reset 🍃

It is Wednesday - the perfect time to pause and check in with your thoughts and behaviours.

🧠 In CBT, we remind ourselves: Worry isn’t preparation — it’s repetition.

Ask yourself:
✨ Is this a problem I can solve, or a thought I can release?

Midweek is about progress, not perfection 💪

🌱 Endings & New Beginnings 🌱

Ending therapy isn’t the end of the work — it’s the beginning of a new chapter.

It’s always so special to receive feedback at the end of therapy — hearing that someone has found the sessions beneficial.

Today is World Mental Health Day.

A gentle reminder that mental health is just as important as physical health.

Taking time to rest, reach out for support, and care for your emotional wellbeing isn’t a luxury — it’s essential.

Let’s continue breaking the stigma and making it safe for everyone to talk about how they really feel. 💬💚

'Why may I feel worse after starting therapy.....before I feel better?'

You will not be alone in this — and it’s actually a sign of progress. Here’s why 👇

1️⃣ Old stuff surfaces.
Therapy brings up emotions you’ve pushed down. It’s uncomfortable, but part of healing.

2️⃣ You’re noticing more.
New awareness can feel heavy before it feels freeing.

3️⃣ Growth feels messy.
Change takes energy — it can sting before it strengthens. 💪

Be patient and it will get easier. 💫

🌿 Mid-Week Mindset Reset 🌿

It’s Wednesday—the perfect time to pause and check in with your thoughts.

🧠 In CBT, we remind ourselves: Your thoughts are not facts.
That stressful thought telling you, “I’ll never get it all done”—it’s just a thought, not the truth.

✨ Try this quick reframe today:
Instead of “I can’t handle this,” say:
👉 “I can take one step at a time.”

Midweek is about progress, not perfection. 💪

Give yourself credit for how far you’ve already come!

✨ Reframe Your “What If” ✨

So often, our minds ask “What if it goes wrong?”
CBT teaches us to challenge that thought with:
👉 “What if it goes right?”

This simple shift opens the door to possibility, hope, and motivation instead of fear and avoidance.

🌱 Next time your brain serves up a negative what if, try flipping it—and notice how your body and mood respond.

✨ How I Became a Therapist ✨

Back at school I loved the Arts (and still do 🎭), but I also knew I wanted to be in a caring profession.

At Leeds Uni, I studied Drama & Arts Education. During a placement in a mental health hospital, I realised my path was to become a therapist. I trained as a Dramatherapist and later as a Cognitive Behavioural Therapist when the NHS IAPT programme was launched.

For the next 15 years, I worked in IAPT and the NHS, moving into management and eventually regional roles at NHS England, helping to shape and transform mental health services (something I feel incredibly proud to have been part of). I also worked in a commissioning and transformation role in a ICB.

But through it all, I always kept one foot in clinical work—it’s the reason I started this journey. 💙

Now, I’m back fully in practice, doing what I love most: working directly with people.

I’ve been lucky to meet and work with so many amazing people who have shaped this story. This is only a snapshot of my career, but I hope it gives you a little insight into my journey 🌿

✨ Let’s talk about online talking therapy sessions ✨

Back in 2020, when so much of life moved online, I honestly wasn’t sure how therapy would work through a screen.
I kept asking myself…
💭 Will I still be able to build a real connection?
💭 Will it feel the same?
💭 Will it even work?

But I learnt, adapted, and realised something really important—therapy can be just as effective when delivered online. 💻💙

Face-to-face therapy will always have its place, but online sessions have opened up new ways to connect and support people, wherever they are. 🌍✨

If you’d like to know more about online Cognitive Behavioural Therapy or EMDR sessions, please feel free to reach out—I’d love to chat. 💌

A lot has changed in my career over the past few months as I’ve made the transition to working as a freelance psychotherapist.

Change can bring uncertainty and fear—but it also creates space for growth, clarity, and new beginnings.

Starting a talking therapy can feel much the same. It’s not always easy, but you don’t have to navigate it alone.

As a therapist, I’m here to support you—wherever you are in your journey. Please do reach out to me 💬✨
