My mother was watching on the bend when Bannister ran his magic mile! ✨

Sabastian Sawe made history in London after becoming the first person to run a sub-two-hour marathon on a legal course, with 1:59:30.

Wednesday May 6 will mark the 72nd anniversary of Roger Bannister's first sub-four-minute mile as he ran 3:59.4 in Oxford back in 1954.

Two athletes from different generations and two iconic barrier-breakers.

Wayyy to go Paula!

It's 23 years to the day since Paula Radcliffe ran 2:15:25 at the London Marathon, which lasted as the world record for 16 years.

Radcliffe produced splits of 68:02/67:23 and she was the fastest British marathon runner – male or female – in 2003.

She won the race by over four minutes to Kenya's Catherine Ndereba, who clocked 2:19:55.
